Well, there's a non-zero chance Spain finishes second in their group. Be careful what you wish for.

England snag an early lead.

Sterling is a really bad player. I wonder where he'd be in terms of club football if he wasn't English.

I also hate to be that guy, but Croatia's run in 2018 was extremely flukey. They beat Denmark in penalties, Russia in penalties, and England in extra time to advance to the finals.

I dono, not sure I agree. They won 3 out of 3 in the group, including a trashing of Argentina. Denmark and Russia were definitely not the hardest opponents they could've drawn but I distinctly recall Croatia deserving to win all their games en route to the final, even if some of them were close.

Either way. Glad to see Ivan still performing for the NT. Modric has absolutely lost a touch and kept losing the ball in his own area trying to dribble opponents. Super goal though.

Of course,We deserved to go to the final. Against Denmark we were so unlucky, missed penalty in 118 minute, but then won on penalties, also against Russia, scored in extra time for 2:1 and than concede totally stupid goal near end of game,we should win both games before penalties,we were extremely unlucky, but again,we won on penalties so in the end: It was fair. Against France we were robbed in first half time,it was ala Calverese refeering against Croatia for France. Ridiculous penalty and that nonexistent faul for everyone except that piece of shit Pitana on that diving cunt Griezmann gave them two goals. We were much better side first half but then we just couldnt run anymore(played two extra times) and Subasic, who played injured thanks to idiot Dalić, conceded two stupid goals. But it was amazing achievement for such a small country with shitty league and corruption all over in football.

I could make a few jokes about selective memory, but I'll shut up before I make anybody mad. It's just... funny.

It was great seeing a new finalist and to see Brozovic and Perisic do so well, but can't ignore that the draw was really unbalanced. I thought Belgium and Brazil were both better, but they were in France's half.
