im so glad the lippi juventites have crashed and burned. they were absolutely horrible.

buffon, cannavaro, chiellini, zambrotta, marchisio, criscito, iaquinta, camoranesi, pepe... all jubentus faggots

heck, even grosso might've made it without the media pressure.

behold italy! juventus are the shame of italy.

shit man, theyre going to get owned by commentators every time theyre playing in the europa cup. its their fault inter had to bail italy out by winning the CL final

prandelli better cut 80% of the juventus squad from his next list

Don't be crazy! Buffon is 32 and as a goalkeeper probably has another 5 solid years ahead of him. He is arguably the best keeper in the world. Chiellini is 25 and a very solid defender. Marchisio is 24 and is blossoming into a very good midfielder, Criscito equally is a 23 year old with enormous potential at left-back.

Cannavaro is gone, and quite clearly not before time. Zambrotta at 33 should follow him and Iaquinta is pure muck. Camoranesi and Fabio Grosso are clearly getting too old and I am still undecided on whether Pepe is good enough.

However, there mustn't be a knee-jerk reaction. Juve still have quality that should be utilised by Italy, and they mustn't be excluded just because a top-heavy Juventino side had a disastrous World Cup. That would be as crazy as Lippi's decisions which caused this mess.

I knew we were going to play like shit with all those shit Juve players on the team but whatever. Prandelli has already stated he will be calling up Santon, Balotelli and Cassano. Talk about great start.

Doesn't matter a fuck whether there was an offside goal or not. If Lippi had engaged his brain and brought players with him who deserved to go instead of his sexbuddies then Italy would have beaten New Zealand and Slovakia offside goal or no offside goal. You're a bit of a hypocrit though to support an Italian team for nine months of the year then to laugh at Italy when they perform badly at a World Cup.

This makes sense...because Lippi didn't bring the players you wanted, it is ok for the referee to not count 2 goals that seemed legit and only caution a player who punched another player??

I understand that we should have never been in the situation that we were in, but that does not mean you do not take away legit goals...

I read Italian sports media daily, I talk to Italians almost daily and I listen to and watch Italian radio and tv regularly and yet you're the only one that I have come across who is bleating on about "legitimate goals". England had an legitimate goal not given, Mexico had an illegitimate one given against them in the last days, but that's life, get used to it. You really seem to suffer from some kind of persecution complex or something where you believe that everyone is out to wrong your team, be it Inter, Italy or the USA.

Whilst Paraguay and Slovakia didn't suffer in exactly the same way, believe it or not, across the course of 270 minutes they will have had decisions made incorrectly against them that could've helped to path the games they were playing. If Italy had been any good the legitimacy of goals wouldn't be an issue.

I suppose the next thing you'll be doing is bringing the Byron Moreno issue from 2002 and claiming there is a history of Italians being persecuted by FIFA. Italy went out because Lippi made bad choices both in the selection of his squad and in the selection of who he played, something almost universally acknowledged and not simply a case of "he went against my choices", failed to motivate the team and didn't train the players properly and its time you got used to it.

Normally I would agree with you concerning keeper's age but over the last few seasons buffon has had lots of injuries. Not small ones, he has missed quite a few months. That is defenitly affecting him, he is still a good keeper but nowhere near the player he was. Definitly not the best in the world anymore.

Chielini needs a good partner and he will be fine. Marchiso is still unproven for me and criscito was very very average at this wc.

Its true Buffon has had the injuries but many players go through periods like this and bounce back. Buffon certainly has that potential and is still better than any other Italian goalkeeper at present. His form has dipped and its worrying the injury problems have continued but he should still be Italy's number one. Criscito looked average but he is only 23 and has enormous potential, I would make a case that his confidence may have been knocked at this World Cup due to knowing he didn't have much there to help him. Likewise for Marchisio who was one of very few Juventini to have a good season.

Whatever, I was going to write a huge long response, but it is not worth arguing about. Italy is out and none of this will change it. You along with 95% of everyone on here were against Lippi from day one, so nothing short of winning every match 3-0 would have changed your minds. If you want to blame the early exit 100% on Lippi, then go right ahead...

I just want to see what happens if Prandelli picks all the players you were begging Lippi to choose and we still fail. I have a feeling you will all be more lenient on Prandelli, a coach who has done nothing, whereas Lippi won us the god damn World Cup after 24 years of waiting...

Dated: 14 Jun 10 11:04. DAI ITALIA ALE'! Even if there are odd choices in the squad I still have great faith in Lippi and there are enough good players in there to do well. Italy are always most dangerous when they look weakest. At last the day has arrived, no more waiting, the World Cup starts for me today! FORZA AZZURRI!!!

Prandelli's Italy will be better than what we saw, because it will have youth players who are there because of their performances in the league and not because they are friends or were good years back. There is a reason Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Holland are doing well at the World Cup. France, Italy and England are not. Look at the average ages.

You claimed I was against Lippi from day one. However I proved I was one of the few who rated him up until this World Cup. The message you quoted was after Italy had gone out. If Mourinho came back and got us relegated to the Lega Pro do you think everyone should still love him. Grow a pair.

Actually that message was after the New Zealand match, so we were still very much in it...I just love how you say that we have players good enough to win and a coach you support and then after they get knocked out, you say the coach sucks and he brought the wrong players haha....20/20 hindsight huh?

I still think there were enough good players in there to get far enough. Lippi didn't play them though either from the start or at all. By the way, how do you get from Malpensa to Milan, do they like have buses, trains, taxis and stuff in Europe?!?

So you think I am an idiot because I did not know the best way to get from Malpensa to the center of Milan, having never been more north of Firenze before in my life?? I never asked if there were buses or trains in Europe, I asked for the best possible solution. But I guess if you travel to NY sometime and ask for some help, I will just tell you to shove your thumb up your ass and hope for the best...

Thanks for derailing the thread.

No, I don't think you're an idiot because you didn't know how to get from Malpensa to Milan. I do think you're a clown for not knowing a guide book would contain that information and the answers to your multitude of other questions though. To be honest there's no point in debating anything with you as you simply believe there is a black-and-white on everything and anyone who disagrees with you is an asshole.

And rest assured I will never set foot in New York or America...

And why spell it Firenze when you're writing in English, thats just being a ponce, everyone knows where you mean so theres no prizes for knowing the Italian...

Are you seriously arguing on how I should say a city's name?? This coming from someone who tried to be cool and write a full post in Italian after the New Zealand game. Seriously, grow the fuck up...

When I lose the head watching football I always give out in Italian, probably from (actually) attending Inter matches... Same as when I watch rugby I lose the head in Welsh. However, you were writing in English, and the English name of "Firenze" is Florence as you well know. What you were trying to do was create an aura around yourself because deep down you know you're not really a supporter but merely a fan boy. Man up and realise it...
