Almost...:(

And this is the only time I'll say it, I love you Sami  He is perfect for this role, I have no problem with him coming off the bench. Great goal :star:

The Saudi team unity was the decisive factor today. Last time, there were alot of internal fighting, but it was very encouraging today.

Next game will be decisive, if we beat Ukraine, I will go crazy! I hope they underestimate us like all teams do.

I am optimistic this time, the best players played today and nobody played because he plays with a preferred team or he is the favourite player...

Congrats to the Arabs on a great second half...I wish both teams luck in the remaining games..

I thought Saudi should have been playing fast passes to get through since the begining and Tunis should have been exploiting the Saudi weakness in the Air which i hope Ukraine doesnt notice.

Saudi were way nervous in the begining for obvious reason but it was beautiful seeing them gain more confidence as the game went by.

Wouldn't be something if both teams made it? :boogy: The only positive thing I took from this game was that both teams now have a realistic chance. I hope Raul is back :p

You mean in defence? Both Reda and Hamad are tall players that are great in the air (and on the ground.) I was really surprised about both goals, since this is their specialty. I hope they work on that next time.

Meh, I was hoping for a Tunisian win…I like nothing more than seeing my Arab neighbours lose! ;) Nonetheless I was quite happy to see Yasser Al-Qahtani score (When did they start calling him Al-Kahtani? Stupid FIFA!!) the lad is the most expensive gulf player ever, costing Al Hilal £2million! Hopefully we'll see more goals from him

of course he is!!

hamoudi..no disrespect..but you gotta explain something to me.

what is it with arab teams when they play saudi arabia?? I mean..I have seen Tunisia play a lot, but I have NEVER EVER EVER seen them that poor. Dos Santos was missing, ok...but what was Trabelsi doing today man?? he was a pedestrian. Same with teams like Bahrein, Kuwait etc. Whenever they face Saudi Arabia, they choke.

Do they believe, that if they beat Saudis they gonna end in hell, because the prophet was also from saudi arabia??

But anyway..credit to them, second half was excellent and I also gotta give credit to Al-Jaber, because he was ready for the subs role and became the hero for the day again. Al-Temyat, Qahtani played all fine.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOL Mehdi @ the prophet excuse. I don't think it has been used yet, but you never know with the extremists. But seriously, LOL!

I remember asking Ashkan the same question a while ago about why Iran seems to falter against Saudi Arabia when they were the better team (I remember Asian Cup 84,88 etc.) He said that it's a matter of underestimation, and it could be.

However, I believe that the Saudi team is a strong one. What you saw today, was the best team Saudi that can come up with. I don't know what happend (maybe people were fed up) but neither Sami nor El D'aya started today and I was shocked.

This meant that the team spririt was high, unlike in 2002 when the choice of some players caused alot of internal fighting between the players.

Today, the team unity was evident and the spirit was high. I am being neutral when I say that the Saudi team is very strong and doesn't get enough credit.

Timyat and Al Kahtani are both Hilal players but I love them both and they deserve to be there. And I guess the Ittihad players (the GK, both CD's, the RB, the CM and the playmaker) were fine with that. Because there was criticism that the coach (who was Hilal's coach) favoures Al Hilal's players.

I am not a fan of Ittihad, but they damn have the best playes in Saudi Arabia. Honestly speaking, although they don't play in Europe like most of the Tunisians, they are as good as them.

He reached Pele's ( and Maradona I think ) record. Scoring a goal in a WC and another in his forth WC. And scoring a goal after only 2 minutes, coming from the bench.

Team chemistry and underestimation(or overestimating ourselves) is a main reason for our underachievement.
It's also that we play scared and shit in our pants, while Saudi's don't.

But you have raised good points about Saudi's success...chemistry and team spirit should be the case, something we terribly lack. :(

Respect to Saudi Arabia.

Saudis are soo poor in defending..they stand too far of player, so Shevchenko & co. can do what they want when they get the ball..I expect few more goals..

The Saudi's are having a major breakdown and thinking of just not doing another mirror image of 2002 disaster...They concede a third and if they dont have the courage to fight the Ukrainians will have a field day. They already know that goal difference will be big for them.

LOL, thank God I had to miss this game. I taped it, but I couldn't resist checking the score, and it wasn't pretty!

I thought the score would be closer, but that is asking too much.

Ah well, all the luck to Tunis now.

Hamed i am advising u not to watch it ,this could have easily been 8-0 once again.Ukraine had more certain chances missed than ones scored.

Anyways Tunisia leading 1-0 against Spain !!!!

Good luck to them
