Agree with the rest, but not this. Free transfer fee but his salary is double that of "normal" players.

10m+ amortization is equivalent to 20m transfer fee + 6m gross or such. Any other Serie A teams bought their midfielders for cheaper last Mercato, Anguissa, Koopmeiners, Torreira from top of my head for a fraction. Midfielders are everywhere and cheap.

We didn't have a cash flow issue anymore after selling Hakimi and Lukaku. We could choose. We just chose the wrong one. Should not have broken the salary cap for a bang-average player.
I think we pay him with Eriksen salary. FIFA paid Eriksen salary then we seek replacement with Eriksen salary, then Marotta see Hakan as best replacement.
The other reason maybe we can weaken our rival too.
I don't know other free midfielders better than Hakan in that transfer window. Wijnadum already to PSG. Who the others? Any idea?

Ok Hakan is not Eriksen we all knew that, but how come we never tried Sanchez as a midfielder,. Sanchez's second striker days are numbered he may get a "new life" and extend his career as a midfielder. Moreover, he probably get a lot more playing time in that role, and that may make him happy.

I have mentioned 5 other names in the previous page, please scroll back. +4 players already in our squad. If Gags & Vecino can outperform Hakan atm, finding "midfielders better than Hakan" should not be that hard.

Guys, we should take a step back from the "0€ transfer fee" to see that Hakan is not free. The money, instead of flowing to the owning club's account, is flowing to his personal one instead.

Doing it this way, we are stuck with him for some more years. Why can't you guys not see that Hakan, with his ridiculous salary, is blocking the incoming of a better player when the chance comes? Zhang always applies "sell first, then buy"... It would be super painful to see one like Zakaria is available for 15m but we'll miss him coz we can't sell Hakan first :palm:

REPORT: CALHANOGLU TAKEN TO COURT, FORMER AGENT ASKS FOR €3M

Hakan Calhanoglu has been taken to court by his former agent Bektas Demirtas, who asks to for a compensation worth €3m and a watch.

SportBild reports the Turkey international, who moved from Milan to Inter when his contract expired this summer, has been asked to meet in court over a dispute with his former agent Demirtas.

The agent has reportedly taken legal actions against the former Bayer Leverkusen player and is asking for €3m from his former client.

In the legal battle, the report claims Demirtas has also asked the player for a watch as a pledge to make sure the payment arrives in due time.

PS: Zakaria will be available for free, we just need Marotta & Ausilio to be decisive again.

Good game especially in the first half. Should be okay against Sheriff but might choke against his former team next week just because.
He's such a moody player that I expect him play in God mode against Milan.

Was an all round competent display, kept it simple, I liked his defensive effort, positioning and support play.

I'd put both him and JC onto Bayerns workout plan to add a little mass. IMO a physical Inter is a dominant Inter.

So Zakaria finally got the seal of approval with his Dortmund link?
But who're you gonna trust, FIF scouts or Bayern FC / Dormund scouting team?

I don't rate Zakaria as highly as some of you but on a free it's no a brainer for Dortumnd. After inexplicably letting go of Delaney, a physical holding midfielder is desperately needed.

Generally I agree, it's very very rare that a talent just escapes the attention of all big clubs in the league then make it elsewhere. It's not only Bundesliga but also every other leagues out there.

But then there are cases like Bruno who was bang average during his time in Serie A. So big clubs' interest should be a good indicator, but shouldnt be all and end all.

Hakan you better be ready for Sunday. Their fans will boo you. You'll be under enormous pressure. Your former teammates know all your tricks and movements. But you've been rested already so you must play the game of your life. Otherwise you'll be crucified by both Curva Nord and Sud and not even the carabinieri could save you...

Being booed by opposing team fans motivates Turkish football players more. I know this sounds weird but that's the fact. Our boys (even those who grew up in Europe) have a weird mentality. I expect minimum 1 goal 1 assist from him if he plays as a starter. Then he'll reset to factory settings. I mean he'll be a piece of shit again :)

Hakan is more of a German raised person than a Turk, though. It's not like he grew up playing games against Fenerbahce and Besiktas. So maybe the booing won't compute properly :D

German raised how? He is turkish through and through, regardless what country he was born in. He is also a devout erdogan supporter, i dont think thats very "german" is it?

Like most immigrants from the muslim world he and his family hasnt really integrated well into western soceity and chosen to stick to the culture of his family roots.

There is nothing german about him whatsoever.
