we replaced Lukaku as well.. we were fine.. more than fine.

People on FIF underestimate how much more comfortable players can be to overperform here. You have a smooth working system and some bang average players are made to look great (Mikhi for example)
How Lukaku has anything to do with this when we compare the departure of Brozovic and possible departure of Calhanoglu? That was the comparison which was made and I replied to that.

Point being, it's not easy to replace Calhanoglu. Unlike Brozovic when we had done the replacement already during the season already.

Go get Samuele Ricci or Ederson to be his replacement.

The fans got tired of him for not signing a contract extension despite saying he was ready to do so. Sounds familiar?

If he leaves it’s for his own ambition not because of being forced out…. It’s not Inter who has put him up for sale, It’s Hakan seeking out other opportunities through his agent… Inter made it clear he is not for sale after all, but it he wants to leave well then the club isn’t standing in the way, the management has after all stated that previously in regards to other players.

No one is forcing him out, but if he wants to go let him.
You don't know for sure what both sides (the management and Hakan) are thinking. Marotta might be tempted by the chance of making pure plusvalenza by selling Hakan. We don't know for sure, we just speculate. But your wording doesn't sound like speculation. Also note that we have had similar rumors about Lautaro leaving for Barca or Bastoni for EPL. None of that happened. Why do similar rumors make you so sure that Hakan wants to leave?

We were very lucky to have a quality anchorman replace Brozo. Thunder rarely strikes twice tho so selling Calha without a backup will completely screw our module.
There are very few good ones right now nevermind being available on the market.

I love Marotta but he can absolutely do one if he sells Hakan this summer. He is a sale for next offseason period.

To me this is very simple. Without Hakan it does not matter who we replace him with, we will be worse off for it. I would rather keep him, have a shot at one more title, then sell next year at a cheaper price. I understand Marotta has to care about financials but this move ain’t it.

I mean thats what i m saying. People think too highly of calhanoglu. He is less crucial than many other players we have sold.

I think he's one of our most important players.

I think the time is of the essence. This cannot drag on for the whole July or anything like that. Decision and move has to happen in few weeks, not in a month let alone longer.

We tell him, no you're not gonna get a new contract. If you want to go, present us with an offer from the buyer club which satisfies us. Otherwise, let's keep on rocking together, there's 3 years left of your deal you signed year ago.

Never been a massive fan of Calhanoglu but I wouldn't sell for 40mil, he's just too important cog in our machine. It's very different compared to Brozo selling as stated here by others.

Then again, if an offer of 70mil€ were to arrive, how could you turn that down?

When it comes to a replacement a direct one would be very difficult to find, of course. Asllani hasn't showed anything for me to say he would be ready to step in to Calhanoglu's boots, he's a sub for that role at the very most. Zielinski I don't know if he really would fit into that position, and it's not even worth mentioning playing Frattesi or Barella there.

So we would need a replacement for sure. Who? Not a damn clue.

One option would be to ditch the regista and start using a attacking midfielder as a playmaker, with potentially Carboni being the substitute for that role. Of course that would probably be too much of an change in Inzaghi's books.

Interesting to see how this pans out anyways.

Honestly, a whole pre-season to see how the squad does with Asllani/Barella/Zielinski/replacement shouldn't be too tough to get someone playing 85-90% of what Calha gives us.

I obviously would prefer not to lose a key player, but if the offer reaches 55-60mil, we are certainly negotiating. I wouldn’t consider an offer at his true market value, which is probably 15-20mil less than that, simply because he is too crucial for our midfield and there isn’t a readymade replacement in the squad who’s ready to fill that gap. That being said, he’s not the most unsellable player for me— Lautaro, Barella, Bastoni, Pavard, Dimarco, and even Thuram are pieces I’d be less willing to part with. I think in the short-term Barella, Asllani, and even Zielinski could occupy that holding role, although none would be 100% ideal. I would certainly be looking to find a more direct replacement. Koopmeiners is an obvious name, but I fear the valuation is way beyond what we’d be willing to pay.

Basically, if the offer is too good to be true for a 30 year old midfielder, I’m okay with selling as long as we have good ideas for how to spend it.

The real problem is that Bayern is willing to pay Hakan 8m net. Then should we keep him he would ask for a contract renewal. That's what written by Biasin.

He is always a mercenary, not Barella or Bastoni. I wouldn't say no to a big offer.

It's the exact same thing Lukaku did after Chelsea's offer. And Inter's reaction should be the same. Hakan signed an extension just a year ago and he's tied to the club till he's 33. Inter have no reason to offer him another extension. If he wants Bayern money then he needs to put in a transfer request, not demanding from Inter to match the offer.

Yeah and as I just stated earlier, we should just say "dude, no". He signed an extension just year ago, with a pretty good salary. There's 3 years left of his deal. If he wants to go elsewhere for a better salary, present the club an offer from that club willing to pay to you. An offer which is adequate according to that salary request. Ie. if Bayern is ready to pay 8m + bonuses net, the price they'll pay to us needs to reflect that. The contract situation is something which won't play a part here, it won't lower the price of the player.

Don't have one.

Yep, if I had to bet, I would bet this is the real reason for all this commotion and the reason why there is a real possibility he will leave. He probably woke up and realized he will be 33 by the time another salary bump comes, and he also recently saw what barella and lautaro got and that maybe prompt him up to act on it.

I just hope rumored 70 mil request is true, we don't have a single reason to budge coz all the cards are in our hands. As some already mentioned, we should introduce a time frame for all of this as well. We can't be dragging this shit for months, weeks even.
