With Asllani deputising yes. We need to let Barella/ Zielinski take the reins there when Calha isn’t on the pitch. And then we hopefully find a real Calha heir soon.
Barella is wasted there. He can do the job ok but who can replace him then? You half ass solve one problem and create another big problem.

Trying Zielinski might be better. I think he's a smart player with solid awareness of his surroundings which is important for a dlp.

Without this guy we look like a Mickey Mouse team.

I think people overrate Hakan's talent tbh. I've said before his role is the MOST IMPORTANT in the team, but that's because we play some super unique football, and he plugs a tactical hole. But in terms of talent, he's barely Top 5.

I'd say in terms of pure talent it's Lautaro, then either Barella/Di Marco, then Bastoni, then Hakan.

I'm a bit tired of this situation, he is becoming very injury prone. Market of 2025 summer should be get a better striker than Arna/Correa/Taremi and also someone to replace Hakan when he is out, which is 30% of the season...

Isnt he just overplayed tho - thats why he's injured alot nowadays. Always comes back too early cos he's needed and never gets enough rest. This is Inzaghi not trusting Zielinski to do Hakans job, which i think he can. Asllani is not a regista or DM.

Plus when Barella/Mkhi share the role when Hakan is off (like Eriksen helping out when Broz was marked or out, under Conte) they are smart enough to rotate and link play then move up the field and not squander the attack. The FBs should help cover Hakan being out during this by carrying/moving the ball upfield. Or is it that Hakan always thinks about the defensive side of his role and its not in Barella/Zielinski's instinct? Or that Inzaghi is too rigid?

Bruh you're the one who's underrating Hakan. Hakan is one of the most complete midfielder i ever seen. He can pass, shoot, tackle, taking penalty and his work rate is amazing. Name a better midfielder than him in Serie A, even outside Serie A only one or two who's slightly "better" than him. You deserve Gargano and Medel.

Hakan is an elite player. Whenever you remove an elite player the team will get worse. But it's to the point with Asllani that he is so much worse the team can no longer function at all. Then when Barella isn't on the field either we're a downright catastrophe. We need to invest in an actual backup with the Frattesi and Asllani money if sold.

Yeah. The thing is, losing Hakan removes a big +ve on our team. That's a massive given. But Asllani is a net -ve, so you get the double whammy. Its overly simplistic, but just as a metaphor, if our team is +15, and Hakan is +3, then Asllani is like -1, so we go from +15 with Hakan to +11 with Asllani

Used to watch Hakan in Bundesliga and used to think he is a talented but moody player. His passing and shooting was always worldclass but no one would have bet on him reaching this level as a DM.
His jump and transition from Milan to Inter is a study case.

Lol what? He's not even the best midfielder at Inter.

He might not be the most rated but he's our most important player. Such is his position. Before him it was Brozovic. After Hakan, it will be whoever takes his place, if we keep Inzaghi and continue playing this way.

Not to forget that he adapted to this role, he was a lcm before, a role he could play in competently as well.

I agree on his importance and his versatility. I'd say he's the most versatile midfielder in Serie A, but let's not forget we were utter dogshit when Barella was out for a while. We looked completely sterile offensively.

Without Hakan we managed to score 2 goals right after, last game. And we could have scored WAY more, if our players had taken their chances.

I reckon he's moving on in the summer, or at least we might try to move him. Injuries are becoming more frequent, and it's the last time to cash in on him and his ridiculous improvement over the last 3 years.

And who will we get instead of him? For 15-20m peanuts?

Adductor injuries are becoming more frequent for all football players not just Hakan. Problem is recovery time also increases with each recurring injury and it can become chronic. We need a strong enough deputy for Hakan rather than a replacement.
