The guy is inconsistent. This was well known even before to get him. I think Indzaghi should start rotate him. When his starting spot is not certain, he will have more motivation to prove himself, I guess.
Problem is we don't have a serious competition for him. Sensi is broken, Eriksen probably won't play for Inter again, Vidal has different characteristics and is more of a Barella backup and i don't consider Gagliardini and Vecino as serious competition for Hakan. We need to get a creative midfielder, either in January or next summer, to compete with him.

Yeah. We need to talk with Sensi that he just needs to go. Move somewhere where there is less pressure, less of a disaster for the team if he's out. It's not a disaster at Inter, but close to it. Because we cannot rely on him so like Il Drago here explains, we don't have anyone for Calhanoglu to compete with.

And then we need to go for a new midfielder, offensive one. Preferably already this winter but it's quite possible we aren't allowed before Sensi is gone.

I doubt there will be any takers for Sensi at least among big clubs... and those are big wages for a small team. We are stuck with him now. Should have sold him on a free this summer while we had a chance.

Imagine signing one of the worst midfielders in Serie A after him also having an awful Euros. Classic Inter.

I am glad you see Sensi for what he really is and for what he was. For me, this season Inter matches are to be avoided by all means for anyone who cares about his health.

I dont mind to see Vidal benching him when we vs Bologna. He needs to know that he is not indispensable.

The bet may still pay off in some way, but right now it seems like we've tied down a poor player with a big contract for 3 years.

I can understand why we took the bait, but there's a big discrepancy between cost and contribution.

7/10 workrate.

Did a lot of dirty works and won many balls in dangerous position. I find this combination much more palatable than, lets say Vecino who offers 7.5 in workrate but has like 4/10 skill, or Eriksen’s 8 skill 2 workrate.

He’s not the midfield meastro you’re hoping for unfortunately.

A truly annoying performace good stuff then bad all within the span of 5 minutes. Played with a lot of energy though. My criticismS are probably more tied to being a fan and wanting Inter to win, than to understanding the player trying his best on the pitch.

His body language isn’t great, however neither was Brozovic’s before he actually won something. I’m starting to wonder if we are better off with his skill in the midfield or Vecino’s…energy.

Maybe trying them together would be something Inter can experiment with a lesser opponent.

I was thinking the same thing today. I'd almost rather start Vecino.

1. I hate Vecino
2. I couldn't give a shit about Calhanoglu's body language and it has zero influence on my thoughts on the matter
3. Yes, I would prefer to start Vecino over Calhanoglu

If we've seen one thing from Inzaghi's Inter, it's that we love to fucking attack. Look back at the goals we've scored, there's always a minimum of 5 of our players in the opponent box. That's a space where Vecino is actually redeemable. He also tends to be super direct with his passing.

Another thing about Vecino is that he doesn't seem to be bothered by the occasion. That is to say, if he has a shit game, it's because he's a rather shit player - not because he's mentally fragile or nervous. That is however, an issue with Calhanoglu, who is a notorious mental midget.

As far as defense goes, Vecino is practically non-existent. But I don't think Calhanoglu is much better beyond some token hassling and closing down.

Ironically, Eriksen of all players was the most balanced option we had in this position. Conte had him playing so deep and holding his position, I remember just laughing seeing Eriksen in our penalty box defending headers and making clearances. Gotta respect the guy, even though it was visibly unnatural for him, he still did a surprisingly solid job of it

Whatever patience FIF was showing Eriksen, we needs to show to Hakan. He already has as many assists in just 5 games and a higher defensive work rate.
