Thought Brozo was the best player on the pitch, with Hakan close second. Good duo.

MOTM in the first 65 mins. Then he ran out of gas. I'd have much preferred keeping (useless) Dzeko on and giving Hakan a rest.

Effort, game in game out. i thought he'd be a rotation piece with a few key moments here and there, but he's a certified starter. even when the execution is lacking at times, he'll run himself to the ground for the good of the team

Played well but to no avail then got a stupid yellow to miss the Udinese match and was replaced by Gags (not that Inzaghi had much of a choice).

Yeah, that yellow could also hurt us, but he keeps getting yellow cards, I expected he'll get one more until the season ends.

And people thought Barella gets too many yellows. 10 yellows for a creative midfielder is insane.

Yeah, I don't know if I'm stereotyping him because he's Turkish thus a hothead, it's a by-product of his pressing from behind, or his knack for killing counters with freekicks which could be assigned to him?

Checked his stats: AC Milan, 4 years, 135 matches 19 yellows and 1 red. Turkish NT in WC qualifiers appeared in 18 matches and only 4 yellows.

He'd have less yellows if we had a single midfielder who could reliably substitute.

He's a master of tactical foul. I think it's good, at least he gets no stupid yellows. Always makes that crucial tackle to stop counter attacks. It's normal with our CBs constantly overlapping.

CALHANOGLU DISCUSSES PAINFUL MILAN RESULT AND HIS FUTURE PLANS

h_57328206.jpg

Hakan Calhanoglu underlined how painful the loss to his former side Milan was and his plans for the future.

The 28-year-old Turkish forward joined Inter on a free transfer last summer after his contract expired with intercity rivals Milan, enraging the Rossoneri fans. It’s not been an easy season for Calhanoglu, who has struggled with inconsistency in the second half of the campaign.

Speaking to DAZN, Calhanoglu first discussed how much he spoke to coach Simone Inzaghi last summer.
“I was with the national team, I spoke two or three times with the coach and immediately there was a connection. In the end we were both happy with my transfer.”

He touched on what difficulties he’s faced since making the move across Milan.
“I have played many roles, even out wide. I’m an intelligent player and I don’t think it’s difficult. You just have to listen to what the coach wants and I immediately focused on this team.”

The 28-year-old Turkish forward spoke about how he’d rate his season.
“In my opinion I gave my all for Inter and for my teammates. I’m trying even now to do my best, we want to go up, we want to stay there. I’m happy but you can always improve.”

Calhanoglu gave his thoughts on the secret for taking a good penalty.
“There’s no secret, I’m used to it because I’ve taken so many. In those moments you shouldn’t think so much.”

He spoke about how he became the first Turkish player to make 150 appearances in Serie A.
“Yes, I like being here in Italy and I am very happy to be here. Italy and Turkey are similar countries, I’m happy for these appearances and I want to make even more.”

He touched on his plans for the future.
“I’m happy to be here, at Inter I feel at home and I want to stay.”

The Inter forward revealed which loss was the most painful this season.
“The defeat against Milan.”

Calhanoglu then revealed that the strongest defender he’s faced is “Virgil Van Dijk”, the most beautiful stadium is “San Siro”, his nicest teammate is “Ionut Radu”, toughest coach was “Gennaro Gattuso” and his childhood idol was “Ronaldinho.”

Keep up the good work on a consistent basis!

EDIT:
Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has changed the way that he plays in order to solve an attacking issue for Simone Inzaghi:
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Hakan Calhanoglu has been making a particular run when Inter are building attacks that points to a tactical tweak either from him or from Simone Inzaghi.

He has been progressively moving further up the pitch to get close to the strikers and he does this with an angled run that starts near the left wing and curves round until he ends up almost as a third striker.

This is likely because Inter have struggled to get enough bodies around the strikers in attack in the second half of the season and by launching forward from midfield, Hakan Calhanoglu can put his creativity to better use.

This surely adds value to the player for Simone Inzaghi.
