I'm confused. Is this a purchase or a loan? It seems to be a purchase, since it is a free transfer, but what about the option by Chelsea to get him back in a year? Weird. But it seems unlikely that Crespo will ever go back to England because of his family.

I used to have that opinion too, until I watched the pre-season matches. I'd say let's give him one more season to prove himself first, unless we get a really good deal now.
