seriously tho, why don't you give it a shot? he's already pained himself explaining the method for it.

playing along, if you want a comprehensive view you're also going to want to figure in all the deals for the existing players. you're also going to need all the contract lengths. and forget payment agreements - what matters is when the rights to the player are transferred. kondogbia is ours now - the 30m is an expense we just incurred. if we only give them 10m cash now, then we have a liability towards them going forward, but that does not impact the P&L.

in any case, we're speculating on only a part of what goes into inter's P&L, so take this exercise with a massive grain of salt.

my question is more around the player contracts while they're on loan here - I'm assuming with Miranda, for example, while we have him on loan for 2 years we are paying the salary from his existing Atletico contract and not one we negotiated with him. Once we sign him outright in 2 years he'll sign a two or three year deal at terms that are to be decided, or are those terms already negotiated?

I was under the impression that Miranda is a transfer, not a loan deal. But if it is structured as you say, I think we can safely assume these terms are already agreed, considering a transfer fee is involved.

@Bluenine can you calculate this transfers:

Its too early, mate. Let the transfer window close, and then I will take a shot at estimating the net impact on the P&L.

Why are we under teh law for having max 25 players, when we don't even play UEFA cups?

It's new rules implemented in Serie A for next season. I think it has corelation with Parma bankruptcy for having soo many player in their team.

How looks the amortisation costs when somebody renews contract?

e.g. We bought Ranocchia for 18 m on 4,5 yrs term. In this summer his book value went to zero, and now? in this year we dont have to count any amortisation, or? I think this was one of the reasons Inter made him stay and not bought another CB.

or another case:

We bought Icardi for 12 million on a 5 yeras contract, than his amortisation costs were 2,4 million/year. How is it now, with the new contract? Book value (~7,2 million) will be divided into the new contract years (4) ? So, from now it's only 1,8 million / year?

Very good questions. Firstly, you must understand that "Book Value" is not related to "Market Value" in any way. The market value of a player may increase, but the book value will keep reducing as per the contract.

Now to answer your questions:

1. In case a player's book value has become 0 (like Ranocchia), and he signs a new contract, there is no amortisation cost. Its like we have now signed him on a free transfer.

2. In case of Icardi who has increased the length of his contract, his remaining book value is now amortised over the length of the new contract i.e. 4 years. So his amortisation cost will reduce to €1.8m, though that is more than offset by his increased salary.

So yes, you are right on both counts.

Thanks, Bluenine. I understand that book value is reducing from the transfer fee paid and goes to zero.

Can we somehow summarize our players BOOK VALUE now? The ones on loan are all 0. (Montoya, Miranda, Telles, Jovetic, Ljajic, Brozovic)

Handanovic 3m (12m/4yrs)
Carizzo ~0
Berni 0

JJ ~1 million ?
Rano ~0
Vidic ~0
Murillo 8
Nagatomo ~0 ?
DAmbrosio ~ 1,2
Santon 3,7

Guarin 4-5 million
Melo 3,7
Kondogbia 35
Medel 6
Gnou 0

Perisic 18
Icardi 7,2
Palacio 2,6
Biabiany 0
