So I got an offer to start up a site from a partner of mines. He'll handle the domain bill, and he'll let me do whatever. I was a server admin, free of charge, for his site for a good long while, so I guess this is his way of repaying me.

What site should I start.

I'm really feeling an English-language Serie A/calcio site.

Tell me what to do my interistas

An offer to do a start up together with no idea about the start up whatsoever?

That's the recipe of success.

It's not an offer to start up together. He just told me that if I want to start up a website, that the tab will be on him. Unsure if I'm gonna take it, but just depends on whether I can think of something to do.

Make some real money then u can create thousands of websites you want...

The minimal requirement of putting one out there is fairly low.

Make a site about CR vs Messi, their goals, status, assists and all that crap, then put up a chatroom or a forum or something, and wait for underage fan boys invading your site for debating who's dick is bigger than the other.

Quick money and lots of traffic, lots of fucken kids out there.

Or just make porn site dedicated only for anal. I know I'll visit it every day.

I have one currently, this is just a cool offer that I think I should exploit.

Stop wasting money building a website and start a go-fund-me to get Inter a proper holding midfielder.

Rt tho

I'm thinking of a site called "CalcioEnglish". General news section, and could try and get people for each of the teams. General calcio news section, editorial section, match reports, tactical analysis, italian football history, a beginners guide. Would probably need a 25 man team tho, so it's kinda off-putting but maybe it would pay off. Especially with the influx of people watching Serie A nowadays.

I'm not sure what kind of money we're talking here, but if you have real dollars I would recommend working out a commercial deal with Opta sports. They're used by a few large companies (ESPN), and offer advanced Serie A stats that you can't find on the internet readily available.

https://www.optasports.com/

I'm not sure if you've poked around other English speaking Italian news sites (football-italia the most well known of the bunch), but the three biggest issues I notice are:
1) People who don't understand Italian well poorly translate articles, news conferences, etc.
2) Obvious biases shown towards certain teams or players
3) Lack of quality analysis based by statistical evidence used in creating opinion pieces.

Make a website that:

• Warns people about the dangers of vaccination
• Informs them that the earth is flat
• Exposes how Jews are running the world
• Proves that Elvis is alive
• Demonstrates that Finland and Australia don’t actually exist

I've been looking into numerous different English-language Italian football sites, and I do agree on the first 2 points, but haven't really noticed the 3rd point.

My biggest motivation is the first point. I want a news site that has proper translations. A lot of Italian-founded English language sites are clearly not tailored for English and often are as confusing as translating it yourself. And then the ones made for English seem to have a phobia of a proper translation unless it's clearly written in print, and its still common for a mistranslation

Another big motivation, for a site like that, would probably be to garner more English-speaking/American fan base for the Italian game. The Italian league is really under-developed in terms of popularity in the US, despite the massive Italian population. People know of teams (mostly just Jube), but it's a quaint existence.

Factoring in that I really enjoy talking about Italian football, the league, the teams and the history - it seems the most attractive.

The only other site that I'd try would be an Inter news/blog site or some other team. But the English-language Inter site is already dominated by sites like SempreInter and SoM. A proper English-language Italian football site is still rocky and not really there, and there's still a place for a site that's actually good at what it does.

There are a lot of English calcio sites tbh, you need to have something different in a big market of news and considering that most people get their news off Twitter I don't think it will work, best of luck though.

They took off Goal.com in North America, but I've missed seeing the "Penaldo/Gaynaldo vs. Taxessi/Midgetessi" comments.

Is there really that many? I don't see many, most are english-versions of Italian papers/sites and the few that are English-exclusive are pretty shit, at least in terms of translation and proper news.
