Canada beat Russia 4-1!!! Was I right or was I right?

I'm about to watch the replay at 12, I set my alarm for 9, but that wasn't happening :p

I saw Tomas Hertl (Sharks first-round pick) scored the game-winning OT goal for the Czech Republic to make the knockout round. Can't wait to see him play USA.... who thrashed Slovakia.

Alex Galchenyuk (Habs first-round pick) looks pretty good. Waiting for Nail Yakupov to do something......

Russia really struggled today. I don't see Sweden having any problem with them

Won't go Gung-Ho about this at least it was entertaining.

I'm more amazed Sweden beat Russia in a shootout rather than blowout.

If that John Gibson guy works his way up to the Ducks... I'm going to be nervous.

I haven't watched either game yet, but Russia was going to be a tough out on home ice.

What I do know is that USA had two CLOSE losses to Russia and Canada in group play. It's not like they barely qualified (despite the last win).... I like what I'm seeing in that Habs 1st round pick.

Good recap here from a Canadian:

EDIT: Can't believe I'm waking up at 5:00 for this gold medal game.... hope this is entertaining.

Canada had no defense in that Bronze medal game.... not sure what Binnington was thinking on that first goal. Awful tape.... I'm watching the gold medal one here...

EDIT: John Gibson looked filthy. Amazing performance by him carrying the team to a win. I'm nervous for the day when Jonas Hiller leaves Anaheim.

Didn't bother watching the bronze medal game, but the gold medal game was quite entertaining. Amazing how the US went from 7th to 1st in one year. Things are looking good there

Just thinking aloud here; Canada's dominant cycle in the WJs was followed directly by them winning a gold at the Olympics, so I wonder if this recent cold run at the WJ's will translate to failure in 2014/18
