I expect more or less the same performance we put in against Napoli. The opponent will play attacking football and impose their style, we will be under siege for a good chunk of those 90 minutes. We will play on the counter again (even if Conte didn't like it when journalists pointed that out, for some reason). And just like Insigne had all the space he could've wanted against Skriniar, I expect Papu to dance his way around Godin and Candreva. We will once again need Handanovic to put in a world class performance, especially because Godin/DeVrij/Bastoni trio is not used to playing together. Nonetheless I expect a lot from DeVrij and Bastoni offensively, they both have excellent capabilities in terms of through balls and long diagonal passes that kick-start counter attacks. I'm not expecting too much from Sensi, he will need a match or two to shake off the rust.
On the other hand, we could really use Barella here. He is a pitbull, and I know that a lot of you don't like his 24/7 grinta overdrive mode, but that Gattuso-like approach when defending, an elegant dose of playing dirty is what is needed to stop these snappy, quick teams early on in the midfield.
Our morale is strong and we are coming off some good results, but Atalanta is in god tier form and honestly a draw would piss me off way harder than if we were to lose. There is no shame in hypothetical losing to this Atalanta squad.
As long as it's not 5:0.
