Help me understand the pots for next season.
Taking EL out of the equation..
If we win Serie A - do we go in pot 1?
If we finish 2nd or 3rd, do we go in pot 2 or 3?
What happens if we win the league but Juve win CL?
What happens if we finish 2nd, Napoli finish outside the CL spots but win CL this season?
i wonder which is the elimination in CL which caused you guys more damage. I'm thinking it's between Villarreal 2006 and this year 2019.
Schalke04 humilliation was heavy but we more or less expected the end of the era. Meanwhile against Villarreal we had a golden chance to get into semis and then into the final
2005 Milan
2006 Villarreal
2011 Shalke04
2012 Marsella
2018 PSV
2019 Barcelona
The whole Mancini era. Milan, Villarreal, Valencia, Liverpool.
With Man Utd it was bad because it felt undeserved with two early headers at each half and a bad luck with shots that either hit the bar or grazed the post.
But in 2004-8 it felt like we should have won in Europe given the (lack of) competition. Barcelona was emerging with Ronaldinho and Eto'o at their prime (plus Xavi, Deco, Iniesta and a young Messi) but other than that, it was just Milan who we finally got their number in Italy only to be fucked by Shevchenko and Merk.
If our 2002-03 made the SF, then those later teams should have been finalists at some point. And it was why I've always considered Mancini to be subpar.
Tottenham and Bale raping us was tough too.

Milan 2003. Getting eliminated in the semi-final is always tough. But getting eliminated in the semi-final, on away goals and at a shared stadium? It can't get worse than that.
Away goal rule is lamest ever.
