In the previous decade we have always been eliminated by the last remaining German team after advancing in Europe.
Schalke 2011
Wolfsburg 2015
Frankfurt 2019

Let's put an end to this.

You gonna miss him, after you see Gagliardini

Im sure 3-0, Lukaku Sanchez and Skriniar.

Both players are all too often utter shite for us. Gags is a better defensive player fwiw. Vecino is jack of all trades if the jack of all trades was another word for decidedly below average in almost all facets. Good header and stamina are his best traits. More suited for a club like Fiorentina or Sampdoria than Inter but alas that’s a discussion for another day.

I don’t watch any German football so I’m looking forward to seeing the likes of Havertz and Bailey.... as long as they don’t Gareth Bale us.

The blueprint is there for them to beat us i.e. Dortmund. I expect they'll follow that strategy. We should fire balls direct to our strikers, thereby bypassing their press and exposing their defence. But, you just know we'll keep coughing up possession outside our box while trying to build up play with Gags instead.

They are levels better than Getafe... I think i said enough for u guys to stop dreaming about 3-0,3-1 wins... But maybe Bastoni marks the shit out of Havertz and we will be fine. I wish we had Exequiel Palacios instead of Gags, he was solid for Bayer yesterday against Rangers, and can actually tackle unlike Gagliardonkey.
Aranguiz missing the game is a big lift for us... Dude dominates the midfield and he is as tall as Sensi...
Diaby might penetrate Godin with his pace like a warm knife in to butter...
SDV can handle Volland
4231 can be deadly against a 352 tho.
This should be a proper test for what Inter is really capable of.
I watched Leverkusen a few times because I think Havertz is a gem, and will be a top top players in the future. Wish he would go to a better club than Chelsea tho. Real Madrid would suit him well.

Yep, I too am worried about a high line and high pressing 4-2-3-1 against Conte's 3-5-2, to say nothing about relative fitness levels.

Another case in point, look at Roma's struggles last night, where they were stuck in their own half and thoroughly out-played.

4-2-3-1 vs our 3-5-2 is where I'd be looking at Eriksen being critical, tbh. If you assume broadly that Young and Dambro will be RWB/LWB, and will be pinned back, then you need Eriksen to try to create some magic to free up Sanchez/Lukaku/Lautaro. I dont know enough about them to speculate if we're gonna hold the midfield or not, but if we dont, then counter attack and fast transitions will be key

I will be very surprised if Palacios starts. I rate him as well but Bosz doesn't seem to agree with us. He has rarely played since they signed him in January. He played yesterday because the tie was all but over from first match and Demirbay was suspended. Their midfield duo will probably be Baumgartlinger- Demirbay.

I know very little about Bayer Leverkusen. I do not watch the Bundesliga so I cannot comment on their strengths and weaknesses. The only thing I know is that they finished fourth and Bundesliga is not a shit league.

They finished 5th.

Guys, don't let the name confuse you. They are not BayerN, they are Bayer. They are an inconsistent team with a lot of quality up top but they struggle a lot without the ball, hence their position in Bundesliga. Inter to win 3-1.

Bayer fans actually fancy themselves to go through here. Looks like they dominated rangers and now think they can do the same. The gulf in class between us and rangers in massive.
We need to go out and dominate. We need to be really careful with Bayer countering fast against us. If we can stop that we can win.
No excuses, need to win this.

How we fare with Diaby on our right side is going to be the X-factor, I believe. I'm not comfortable with our matchups so whether we're able to mark him out of the game a bit or if he plays an influential role is going to go a long way towards determining how the game goes. Probably the player I'm most concerned about, fully aware that Havertz is also still around.

That’s one way of looking at it. I’m 99% sure Conte will look at it the other way and pack the midfield with our three most defensively capable midfielders again.

Please don't have Gagliadini on the field against Leverkusen.
