A lot of comments are written on emotions, Taremi isn't a bad 3rd striker, he was just unlucky today. Asllani isn't as bad as many write, Buchanan did not play in his position, he is a rwb, he came instead of Dumfries. Yes, Frattesi is the only one who needs to be sold while he costs a lot of money to reinvest in 2 good players for 20 million each - for example, Niko Paz and Morten Frendrup.

tbh, beren has been out injured a bit lately i think - i doubt he'll play. Topalovic i'd love to see him get a chance tho

yeah inzaghi hates youngsters unfortunately. but it would be nice if we could give the kid a chance and if shit goes south, sub him off at the half. because the other way around, he's never gonna sub them on unless we're 3 goals up

Wtf is this thread, people talking about lost scuddetto in january with three points behind and one game less. Fuckin hell
You know Napoli threat is real.

They do have 1 match per week only. 18 games left.

Look at us.

Still Coppa quarters to play then semis if progressing, UCL 2 matchdays to play to arrive in top8 which our batteries will be grateful for, imagine not arriving at top8 ( somehow fucking up Monaco match) add + 2 games

Then starts knockout rounds

Then postponed Fiore game.

Look at us trying to outrun Bologna on a Wednesday night at Meazza. Bologna run circles around us.

Its not looking good bruv.

napoli implosion feels unlikely atm, tbh. We really needed to take our chances against them, Juve, Milan, but hey here we go.

I'm mentally braced for not winning the league this year which will end up being a very disappointing season I think.

Calm down,we didn't lost anything.

And I can tell you Napoli in not winning in Bergamo this Saturday.
Watch Conte doing Conte with 0-1 and crap performance.

Problem is lots of players are fatigued and mf bench options are piss poor (except Zielinski) so we get easily beat and loose lots of possession.

For this match it was obvious possession will be the key. Just take a look how we lost like 70% of duels in midfield and gave possession away so they managed to fastly half-counter or just hold the ball and create something.
All out meaningful actions came from our 20 meters or so, either by them making an error, us defending well or from Sommer's hands.

Thats where Miki plays a key role, he's wining a lot of duels in opponents half and defending back by running all the way down if needed (in cases we don't have control).
He was very missed in this match. Kudos to Zielniski for doing decent but he's damn fragile when it comes to duels.

Yeah Taremi has been unlucky whole season. Asllani isn't bad, he was just being a good guy giving bologna players the ball whenever he possesses it. Also Buchanan best games for us when he was playing as lwb, last time he played as rwb he looked awkward.

I admire our hunger to try to attack all the trophies out there with hunger. Like Beppe said that the most important thing is to arrive to the finishing line ( getting into the finals, May still fighting for title in Italy , whatever)

But this squad is not capable this year I fear. 1 year older, after completely exchausting year, juiced out bodies and minds to bring the star home. Lautaro was so wrecked he is getting into shape in the middle of January lol

Subs not good enough, no investments in January, but trying to get by what we have ( still paying highest wages in Serie A) so we should be still favorites IF we choose our battles.

We cant win the war ( 3 trophies left)

Another awful home performance.

With atleast 4 more CL games + x Coppa italia games, we really need to pray they keep delivering away in serie a, or else winning the league seems rather unlikely with Napoli only having the the league to play for and considering all our backups are from planet awful.

Probably needs Napoli to choke at some point, while we survive with reasonable league results until we are out of the CL in most likely R16 or quarters at most.

It's not the point difference, it's the schedule and lack of depth. Without Hakan we're nobodies, and Frattesi, Asllani, Zielinski, Taremi, Buchanan, Arnautovic, Correa etc aren't making the difference. On top of it we play fucking 13 more games than Napoli at least throughout the whole season, maybe more if we advance to later stages in CL.

We have coppa one more game at least, four CL games at least (finishing top8 or not we will play four games for sure) and that Viola game away in Serie A which who knows what shape we'll play it in. Even if we can play our best players every game (which we aren't) the fatigue and lack of depth is too much.

I'm not saying we won't win Scudetto but we have to be realistic and notice the whole picture is not looking hopeful. I'd say it would be an achievement if we do it tbh.

Taremi is probably an acceptable 4th striker but is playing 3rd, Arnautovic 5th to rest starters in lesser games , Asllani backup cm/failed dm, Buchanan is a complete failure. Zielinski needs to step up, we expect more of him.

i forgot frattesi, that says it all.

I don't have a problem with your type of analysis and worry, I have a problem with people saying scuddetto is lost in january. There is a huge gulf between that statement and what you wrote.

Think about it: on current form, we are not going to beat Napoli, and Juventus away from home. And when it comes to Milan, we have psychological hangups that lead us to mostly lose to them when we play.

Game in hand or not, this team is not showing form that is going to lead to 21 and a second consecutive Scudetto win.

You can disagree and argue all the way to the end of the season but it is not going to make a difference. We do not have enough to compete on multiple fronts against a Napoli team coached by Conte that only plays once a week.

I’m checked out on Inzaghi becoming any more than what he is. A Lazio coach with the best team in the league. He’s a good manager but he’s not what many here think he is. He is not and I don’t think ever will be a great coach. He is innovative and plays a good brand of football and appears passionate. All great things. But he lacks the little things like good man management and grit we need to win major titles consistently. Hope he proves me wrong but I’m not sure he will.

Unpopular opinion: Inzaghi should have a solid, well-thought-out Plan B or a second formation. Something to rely on when key players are missing, along with the traits that make our main setup work.

Also, our bench is terrible right now. I’m beyond disappointed with Zielinski, and the same goes for Taremi. And Frattesi...dude, man, you were supposed to be the guy! I know all the "out of his position" etc, but show some balls.

I blame Inzaghi the most tbh, if we are playing the blaming game. Other that that, im getting vibez of the same season we lost the title to Milan.
