Team's looking good but we still have some issues with defensive complacency.

Hopefully this is addressed. Some things are healed or improved over time, players will get more accustomed to what the coach wants. Let's hope our defensive mechanism starts clicking.

Defense is still not up to scratch. Forget that ludicrous goal Bologna scored, in every single match so far, there's been a trend of opponents having way too much freedom in dangerous areas.

Under Conte, we were a lot more compact and well-organized. Opponents would often meet an invisible wall at the first red line and fail to progress. They'd have to pass backwards or go out wide to find any space.

So far under Inzaghi, teams are finding tons of space within that red rectangle. It's exceedingly easy for them to bring the ball right up to the edge of our penalty box, and they consistently have the time and space to make plays, create little 1-2 movements and cause us issues. These attacks don't always end up with us conceding goals or even facing shots, but it's problematic nonetheless. Just a yard of space can allow an opponent to turn a small window into a dangerous opportunity - just see Camavinga and Rodrygo.

I know I'm not the only one watching our games and regularly raising my eyebrows at these constant "leaks". Personally I haven't felt a sense of defensive security at any point under Inzaghi so far.

The funny thing is if there was one team who couldnt consistently work the ball to this area vs Lazio, it's Conte's Inter

Anybody else noticed that Skriniar pointed at Dumfries when they celebrated the first goal and Lautaro run away from everyone as if he created and finished the goal by himself? Nice to see other players were happy for Dumfries.

Perhaps Inzaghi's philosophy is "Opponents score goals as many as they can, we score as many as we like"

I also saw Skriniar pointing at Dumfries and holding his arms out in blame after we conceded the late goal - as if it were somehow Dumfries fault

Nah. That's not how real captain acts, especially with newbie. The real captain (J.Zanetti) never blames his temmates. Instead he encourages them to do better. Or points out that someone is wrong in a specific case (see Balotelli-Eto'o penalty accident).

What is a ''real'' captain? I'm sure Zanetti told teammates to f*ck off and focus when they made mistakes. If you are at the top there is no room for only nice guys, Zanetti was someone special but I can't believe he never spoked the truth against his teammates.

Yeah. I remember at a time people were questioning Zanetti's captaincy because he was too nice and quiet. Sure when you are a captain being too nice might not be a good idea sometimes. People were saying the same when Messi was given the captain's armband for Argentina. Sometimes you need to tell your team mates off to keep them in line.
