Well, 3pts is all that mattered tonight and we delivered. It's not an easy situation where Inter is, so let's appreciate this win although not the best performance that Inter could give.

Dimarco was the worst on the pitch and he couldn't even receive a simple pass lol
He seemed tired a bit, but thats okay when the right flank is delivering like crazy 🔥

We scored 51 so far this season, 16 goals more than Napolili.. we have to take this one 1️⃣

Missed the game. From the look of it, everyone did well apart from the late goal by Esposito. How did ASSlani do? Did he make any stupid passes that put us in danger?

He did all right and got an assist as well. His forward passing was very good and was more physical on the defensive end, imho.

Not a great performance but good enough to get the win. Good to see lauti finding form.

So much drama for nothing. Where is the Asllani hate now? "We CaN't WiN wItH AsLlAnI oN pItCh" - dude has the best corners out of him, Hakan or Dimarco. Yeah I don't think he'll ever be as good as Hakan overall, but anybody calling him useless forgets that even Brozović and Calhanoglu had bad games before. He'll either progress into a better player (and hopefully bulk up) OR he won't and he'll be a bench player. I don't see how he couldn't be a bench player for us, except if he'll become worse.

Oh, also Arnautović can't do anything right? So far Arna for 15 minutes has been good enough for me, I just don't like him starting. Dude makes the right pass most of the time.

This time it's Taremi, Dimarco and Zielinski not being good enough for what is expected, but the fact that 3 starters can be underperforming and we still win in the end, that shows the team is doing good.

Our record in Serie A is 14 wins, 5 draws and 1 loss, still on pace with Napoli, still playing in Coppa, will feature in CL in spring. Considering how we know that the team isn't perfect, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM THIS TEAM? You can't complain how management fucked up by not bringing better strikers or a CB and then demand Inter winning every game. I'd say so far we are doing as good as we can with this squad. Dumfries and Thuram are scoring, Lautaro finally found form and is contributing more than just goals, Barella has been a STANDOUT. We even did good while having an injury crisis.

So far I'm enjoying myself this season, we did better in defence last season, but otherwise I don't see a reason yet to start panicking. And even if we didn't have other competitions this season, that doesn't mean we would necessarily do better than how we are doing right now. Maybe we would score more and we would concede less, maybe we would've won the Supercoppa, but it's clear we are a machine that score a lot more than Napoli who has only 1 game per week. It is clear that the coaching works for the most part. Dude, if we had the money to get some of the name we were interested in, like Bremer, SMS, Retegui... we would be unstoppable.

Ironically Asllani wasn't really good last night but since he hit the corner that Dumfries scored from and we won, people will forget everything else.

The problem lies with where he stands (and not roams) when we have possession and how he treats possession when he receives the ball. Stats are irrelevant. "Recovering" the ball when it's a result of the opposition's mispass is not something to turn into a flag of hope.
He's always hiding between the passing lanes instead of opening them up, rarely is quick enough to realize he needs to be the first point of action available as an option to the teammate with the ball and his main idea of building up is to hoof the ball up front which may work but usually doesn't. Because having possession low and close to his area seems to scare him.

The kid did ok overall and wasn't a hindrance to the team, had some good offensive output, but that's close to his best. And that's a problem. It's good that we can use him in such games, but these games are a minority during a season. He needs to step it up big time.

I agree mostly about this, but I think it's not minority of the games of the season, but possibly at least 1/3 of the games, maybe even more. We need better than that, but it's not disastrous or anything like that. In big picture IMO he needs to leave to become a better player, but that is another discussion. He can be used in a limited fashion now.

1/3 is the minority :pazzini:
But unfortunately it's closer to 1/5

Fell asleep at the HT, woke up @ 87', saw its 3-1 , watched it until 94' with my sleepy eyes, closed the TV , went back to sleep .

Saw the highlights this morning. All 3 goals were great. Lautaro might be truly back!!

Asslani has, to his credit, really lifted his intensity over the past few games. The results are mixed but he's at the very least determined to try and impose himself on this team. I noticed Barella dropping deep a lot to pick up the ball from Sommer and that allowed Asslani to get possession a bit higher up the pitch which is safer all round.

A generally laboured performance which seems to follow the pattern of a first-half creating very little of note thanks to sloppy final balls and erratic finishing, then the game opening up a bit as opponents without much in the way of benches tire. Talking of tiring, that's another goal conceded in the last 10 minutes - I think it's something like 10 of the 21 goals we have let in have come in that window. It's happened enough that it's definitely a pattern and maybe the consequences of the ageing squad, although it has been a rapid change as we were famed for the exact opposite stat just a single season ago.

I will rate is Asslani good after full performance against one of the top 5 teams in table. But, if he can deliver vs mid to bottom table teams thats also fine. Lets see what happens.
