Anyway, good stuff, dumb penalty aside. For me, we’ve reached our expected goal for this season in the CL. Anything beyond this is a massive bonus.

FIF Special OnesI didn't like that we won because of a penalty that came from a wrong call, but seeing how we were already up 3-1, it didn't really influence the game all that much.
Nice to see Hakan's penalty record still going on (except for that one miss this season)
There were huge spaces left for Mkhitaryan, Frattesi and Dumfries, which they exploited most of the match. This is the most I've seen Mkhitaryan setting other players with long balls, probably ever. You could see that this Feyenoord side was cobbled up by players that usually don't play together. Just too disjointed. If we played with our full squad, we might've won as high as Arsenal did against PSV.

Good result and a decent performance, though it has to be viewed through the filter of Feyenoord being a really modest side not helped by their considerable injury issues. I was watching Miki gambolling like a spring lamb in the huge spaces between midfield and attack and thinking no Serie A side, even the most rubbish ones, afford him that much space.
This team has many virtues, but my frustrations with the things it does not do well were very much on show yet again last night. There was the poor finishing - Taremi after 15 mins when Thuram lined him up and he had time to take a touch and pick his spot, yet just wildly struck it straight at the keeper, then Thuram himself after that mazy dribble in the box lifting his shot for some unexplained reason and watching it hitting the bar - but even more so were the multiple counter-attacks with Feyenoord outmanned that broke down because of a poor final ball, or poorly hit cross, or players making runs away from where the ball is finally delivered to. I've been saying this for way too long but there seems no patterns in the attacking play in the same way there is with the rest of the team - as if Inzaghi is telling them they are good players and just to improvise.
I think if at the start of the season we had set a target round of where we expected this team to reach, it would be where they are, the Quarter Finals. Anything earlier would have been disappointing and anything later would be overachievement, so kudos to them hitting that sweet spot. I think Bayern have way too much pace and technical quality for our defence to keep them at bay for two legs, and we need way too many chances in attack to score goals at the other end, chances we will see a lot fewer of. As long as we can give a good account of ourselves then it will be considered a good campaign.

Seen some figures showing that Inter has made 103m euros from the CL this season so far, a million less than Bayern and two million less than PSG who lead the earnings table. More relevant is the gap between us and the other Italian clubs - Atalanta 67, Juventus 66, Milan 61 and Bologna 35. Even if we exit against Bayern then I reckon we will have pulled in around 50m euros more than any of our domestic rivals.

How much we earn is irrelevant to me until I see how much we can spend on the mercato during summer. We were in the cl final, had record earnings and then in the summer we had pretty mediocre and subpar mercato in terms of what we had to spend. There will be no excuses this summer, so it will be make or break for oaktree reputation. At least zhang had an excuse of suning literally abandoning the ship and leaving the poor fuck alone to deal with everything.
