How much we earn is irrelevant to me until I see how much we can spend on the mercato during summer. We were in the cl final, had record earnings and then in the summer we had pretty mediocre and subpar mercato in terms of what we had to spend. There will be no excuses this summer, so it will be make or break for oaktree reputation. At least zhang had an excuse of suning literally abandoning the ship and leaving the poor fuck alone to deal with everything.
we lost 85 mil euros when we were in the CL final (that season) still..

I *expect* this usmmer we will see decent spending. Club world cup money, another 100m run in the CL, and already like 40-50 mil of wages+amortisation will be going off the book in the summer. The club was not a million miles from profit last year, so with all of this uplift, the club should itself have money to spend, let alone needing any investment from Oaktree.

But who knows. They might decide to take the profit (very doubtful), or we might need it to fund moving on conversations like the stadium, or preparing for the bonds redemption.

How much we earn is very relevant as that *should* drive up available budgets, especially if it's at the expense of other Italian clubs we might be competing with for the players we want. Whether Oaktree follow through remains to be seen, but footballing revenue is rising strongly and visibly so they will have a job justifying any lack of investment we do see in the summer.

But if you can't get all of your preferred targets, would you rather still spend that money instead of saving it for later? I believe we are saving a part of that money for other things.
I don't think we are going to spend a lot more than what we'll get from our sales this summer. CL money is more for financial stability and our high wages than transfer war chests. Maybe 20M at most of CL money for transfers.

It was already said that our main starting group is staying the same, except for probably Acerbi. We will be adding a bench player for every player that leaves...so Frattesi? Correa? Taremi? Maybe Buchanan? Maybe Darmian, maybe Mkhitaryan? Not really something that we need to spend 80M of our CL money for transfers to get good enough players for our bench.

Why would they save money for later? If they save money for later we'll become weaker and spending the money later might be late. Summer window is the time for spending.

Because that's not smart business. Marotta and co. know what they are going for - a CB, at least 1 new striker (who could be David, meaning free with big wages), maybe bring a young striker back from a loan, maybe keeping Buchanan to be Dumfries' bench option and maybe getting Paz.

If we don't get Paz this summer, we could get Arda Guler on loan+option. Or any other player like that if that is what Inzaghi wants.

But it could easily be just two/three new players and a bunch of loanees coming back.

No need to spend all the money just because we have money. Spend as much as you need to on that new CB, fill up the squad holes and that's it. And I believe that is truly the plan.

If not anything else, I'd rather have some money saved for the winter transfer window if we need it.

It's not irrelevant at all. Inter being in CL final helped us immensely. Had that not happened we would sell some starter that summer.

PSG has an easier road to the final than Barca/Inter/Bayern. The game between Real and PSG will probably determine who wins in the end.

1.Real
2.PSG
3.Barca
4.Bayern&Inter

Buying three players without selling any of the crucial players would be great. I'm not even expecting more. What I am expecting is not to act like Suning from 2020 until they sold the club during transfer windows.
