This also means that the three man defence becomes almost worthless (since the team is not properly playing out the back).

At the moment the team tries to play out the back but is incapable of doing it well and instead just ends up kicking it forward.

The team also is not capable of surmounting a proper counter so Dzeko just ends up holding up play or taking on a defender until the ball gets played out.

Play will restart from throw-in and midfield will again play it back to the defenders, who again will play it it amongst themselves until pressed and this whole process is repeated.

Whenever I've bad day earlier in Inter's match day, Inter will get negative result.

The idea is that I wouldn't want Barella playing that role in this game. He needs to be going forward, as does Calhanoglu.

I also agree that we shouldn't change formation and Gags is the best Brozovic's replacement.

4-4-2: We don't have wingers or wide midfielder for this, even if we resort to 4-4-2 diamond that means we have to deploy two of Gags, Vecino, or Vidal
4-3-3 or 3-4-3: We don't have right winger.
Most of all, changing formation suddenly without sufficient preparation would drag down the whole team and it is much more damaging than having cripple midfielder. Now Gags is the best alternative because we play home and we desperately need 3 points. Gags is much more tidy in possession than invisible Vecino or erratic Vidal. The question is whether he still remembers how to do basic pass.
