I'm making all the game threads because ever since I started making em', Inter keeps winning.
So I'm just as important as the players. If not more.

Biggest game we've had this season. This Fiorentina is seriously not only pushing for Champions League futebol, but even a top 2 or 3. Prandelli is brought new life into this team, and they currently have the best striker in Italy (current form) in Luca Toni, and a rejuvinated Stefano Fiore, and a decent looking defence once again.

Inter. I honestly think with Fiorentina's style of play, we can't play Matrix and Samuel next to each other. One has to take out Toni, and Cordoba has to take on the faster and more edgy Bojinov/Fiore. One of Matrix/IlMuro has to miss out, IMO.
I'm not too worried about whether Ze Maria or Burdisso plays @ right back. I for once don't want Solari to play, too big of a game...play him against Rangers. Pizarro is better than Veron, but Veron is in good form and should play. Adriano and Martins as the strike duo.

Catanha's XI

Cesar
Z.Maria Cordoba Samuel Favalli
Figo Veron Cambiasso Stankovic
Adriano Martins

Toughest game indeed, even more than the Palermo one, at least on paper.

I thought I would never say this, but I may prefer Materazzi to Samuel this time around. He played against Toni before, and knows him very well. However, Materazzi played alot of games recently, and Samule may start this one, he will have a big task on his hand.

We should put pressure on the flanks as well, ZM and Figo would be a good combination. Players like Jorgensen and even Ujalfusi like to attack from the wing.

I think we can and should play with matrix and samuel, with cordoba as fullback
Leave Toni to Materazzi and I bet Marco will do a great job there

Figo should be man of the match, there will be a lot of space and easy job for him on right side, with adriano and oba up front it will be even easier for Luis.

my team is in my signature

it won't be easy, but we can do it and make it easier then it looks

Viola is not pushing for UCL football. They are pushing for Lo Scudetto. They must not be underestimated, to me one of the best looking teams in Serie A.

tough game indeed!

thanks to mancio for resting martins, veron and cambi. also thanks to adriano who insist himself to play for ±35 minutes to stay in shape (perhaps? :D)

now let's take a look at the probable line-ups:

------------------------Cesars--------------------------------

cordoba---------matrix------------samuel------favalli-----

--------------cambiasso--------veron-----------------------
Figo-----------------------------------------------------stan

----------------martins-------------adriano-----------------

with the addition of samuel on the defense, mancini seems a bit comfort with his defense. although samuel-matrix teamed-up hasn't been tested that much, it will be a tough test against Fiorentina with Toni and Bojinov in attacks.

figo and stan will most likely start in this match, with a possibilit swap at the 60th minutes with either solari or pizzaro

attacking mode, left-right flank attack, with a combination of veron pass-through.

defense will be crucial, as cordoba might have to back samuel up on this game to seal the wall just to avoid any unecessary mistakes.

martins will be freshened up while his patner upfront seems will do some more acrobatic passing moves again.

seems martins, stankovic and adriano will score again this time. not to forget some assists from figo as well. a three-nil game for inter

I dunno know about that. While I agree with them possibly being in the CL next season, Serie A still belongs to the Big Three and will most likely come down one of those teams winning it. However, if the Della Valle brothers (ultra-rich owners) remain in charge and if Prandelli is given the chance, Viola will be contending for lo Scudetto sooner rather than later.

And while Viola look great early, their success can be attributed to the brilliant form of Toni and the revitilized Fiore. Their defense is still rather porous and I can't imagine them keeping a clean sheet against a refreshed Oba, Veron and Adriano (kinda) that will be back in the mix.

I thought I would never say this, but I may prefer Materazzi to Samuel this time around. He played against Toni before, and knows him very well.

I also agree my fellow Canuck. I'm not a big fan of Matrix myself, but as you said he's played against Toni before and had moderate success, though I can't really remember that first game against Palermo real well. Regardless, the last thing we wan't to see is Samuel getting torched by an in-form Toni and his confidence be absolutely shot. Not that I don't trust in Il Muro but it's risky playing him and the equally slow Matrix together against such an attacking team. Then again, it's equally risky seeing Ze Maria at RB. Damn I wish JZ wasn't hurt and Burdisso had came back a little earlier. :( Oh well....

INTER 2009/10 !
Very very though game...Luckily we are playing home..I expect us to win,and I'm positive about it because we rested a few players..

--------------------J.Cesar-----------------------
----------------------------------------------------
Cordoba-----Samuel---Materazzi------Favalli
----------------------------------------------------
Figo--------Veron-------Cambiasso---Stankovic
-----------------------------------------------------
-------------Adriano------Martins-----------------

I was in doubt about Martins....hm,I definitely want to see Recoba in 2nd half...Other subs: Pizarro definitely, and Solari or C.Zanetti..depends on the game developing..

This will be a huge game,I hope we get the advantage of playing at home.I wouldnt mind playing with 2 dm AFTER we get the lead and theres something like 20 minutes remaining...

Right now we cant afford to lose or draw especially at home but this is one tough opponent this year.

Fiorentina definitely is a hurdle this season. It'll be a tough match, but I'm confident we will win this, especially considering that we're playing this at home. We shouldn't drop any more points.

As for the formation, Materazzi may be more useful against Fiorentina, like Hamed said. The problem may lie with the right back position, especially if Cordoba partners Materazzi in central defence. Ze Maria looks weak defensively, and Burdisso just came back from Argentina. So it looks like we have to do with Cordoba in right back, and Materazzi and Samuel in central defence.

The midfield should be pretty much the same. I hope we'll see Solari though, although it looks unlikely since Stan is having a pretty good time. Adriano and Cruz should start up front, IMO.

We should be taking this match as if they are a scudetto rival. I hope we come out at our best, all guns blazing, bang bang bang, eat sh!t viola.

Best possible line-up.

Adriano-Martins
Stankovic-Cambiasso-Veron-Figo
Favalli-Mihajlovic-Materazzi-Cordoba
Julio Cesar

Anything less than this won't do!!

Mihajlovic?? hahaha just kidding.

This is a special match for me, as my dad's neighbours are Fiorentina fans, so the neighbourhood becomes a football forum. They put out their La Viola flag in front of their house and we do the same, plus play Pazza Inter for hours. :D

So this is like a derby for us.

We have to play best team in this match so Veron, Adriano and Oba back again.
I m not sure about Ze ore Cordoba since Samuel still has not satled in the Team.
I think it would be better to play Ze on the right and move cordoba to middle.
So my lineup:
--------------------J.Cesar-----------------------
----------------------------------------------------
ZE---------Cordoba----Materazzi------Favalli
----------------------------------------------------
Figo--------Veron-------Cambiasso---Stankovic
-----------------------------------------------------
-------------Adriano------Martins-----------------

Fuir on tina....tough game. Really looking forward for a packed meazza. I think if this game is to be won by us, its going down the centre.

Veron/ Pizarro and cambiasso have to dominate that land their own. And one thing none of you pointed out, the strongest part of their defence is FREY!!!!

Frey to me is 90% unbeatable, he really needs a boot sometimes and thats my opinion.

Fiorentina are good but Scudetto ambitions are way out of their league. They depend on Toni a lot, if we take care of him, we'll castrate them :D

We're at home and I don't think this will be as hard as Palermo, which will be the team fighting Fiorentina for 4 place and CL football IMO.

My line-up is:

Cesar

Ze Maria Matrix Samuel Favalli

Figo Cambiasso Veron Stankovic

Adriano Martins

Samuel has palyed against Toni in the past. If I remember correctly while Toni was at brecia and the wall was at roma. ;)

I think mancini will start with figo and stanko on the wings and veron and cambiasso will start unless someone is tired or something.

We gotta attack them right from the start and not give them the time to start some sort of tempo, they remind me of inter a lot, they really dont give up sometimes and come refreshed n hungry. But also, tend to have a lot of mistakes, sounds familiar?

We got watch their counter attack, coz they fast on the breaks.

comeon guys get serious, forget about them going for scudetto, i dont think roma r goibg to let them get the fourth spot for the CL.
But we must not underestimate them, god thing is that we r at home, unfortunately this is a week of tough football, dont kow whether adriano can play all three games this week, since he also came on as a substitute in the chievo game, here is my team
J.Ceaser
Cordoba matrix samuel favalli
Figo Veron Cambiasso Deki
Oba adriano

Adriano - #10
I watched Fiorentina against Lecce and I saw a dominating display. Luca Toni is dangerous, on fire, and he just never quits. Even after he had scored a brace and missed a shot he was angry and hungry for more. Fiore is also playing very well and scoring goals too. Fiorentina will definatley be our toughest test yet. Hopefully the side comes together and puts on a dominating performance of our own. Here's my lineup.

-----------------Adriano-----------Martins

----Stankovic----Cambiasso-----Veron-----Luis Figo

-----Favalli---------Samuel-------Materazzi----Cordoba

-------------------------Julio Cesar

Solari may be avaiable, but as someone said before, we should save him for the CL against Rangers, not in this game. Even though I'd rather Cordoba with Samuel in the middle, I still think it's best to play Matrix since he's guarded Toni before. Also, having Cordoba against Fiorentina's attackive left side will definately be a strong point in the back.
