I've taken part in this discussion in the summer

Mediapro holds the international rights of La Liga and La Liga also has its own TV service, LaLiga.tv, I think that's the reason they have a uniform graphics across the globe unlike Italians. I've read that Serie A also has similar plans after current 3-year deal expires, they also gave back Mediapro their 60-million deposit in the failed TV rights bid in order to keep good relations. Spanish clubs get 2.2 billion annualy from TV contract. IIRC, Italians get something around (973+150+371- obligatory payments)=1.2-1.3 billion annualy (not gonna mention EPL, they are in stratosphere). If Mediapro comes back, that could be a blessing for calcio.

It's a pity that Mediapro didn't take part in the 2017 auction of international TV rights (which was won by IMG). I am totally sure that they could fare much better than IMG (they actually couldn't even break-even with their sales and get at least 370 mln EUR they pay to Lega A annually)and even design something worthy of watching not the current crap.

By the way, those Russian channels who stopped broadcasting Serie A are subcription services. So, you pay these guys and then they stop showing you the football league you like the most... Seems legit.
