Liked the recap of the Torino match, sure it was Bisseck fault, but the rest of the defensive wasn't prepared for anything going pear shaped. Hopefully the Lautaro doldrums are happening now and not in February through March. Napoli is the front runner imo, right now. We'll be able to tell if things are going south if Conte starts pitching about the lack winter transfers and if Lukaku starts waving his hands regularly. The new CL format harder to follow than the old wa. Jury is still out on the "new and improved" one.

Like the episode, agree with everything everybody said about winter transfer, the buy or sell. Frattesi will get big money offers if he shines in the CL and International matches. Roma match will be dreadful with a 3-2 Inter win.

Pretty sure this is our best episode yet.
Pressing without intention to steal the ball doesn't mean that player is lazy and is pressing just to show coach and fans that he is running around while actually doing nothing. You don't have to steal the ball in the end to be succesfull at pressing.

I have to agree to @ChillBro that replacing Asllani is not a priority. As mediocre as he may be, he’s fine. We’d either have to buy some unknown youngster and hope he develops, or spend a lot to secure a palpable upgrade, and even that is hardly guaranteed.

I don’t think we need to thinking about replacing Mkhitaryan either. We haven’t seen Zielinksi settle yet and Mkhitaryan’s still doing well for the most part. Even if Frattesi or Zielinski were to start cooking off, Mkhitaryan would still remain the ideal bench option for the last 15-30mins.

We’re still getting goals directly from his interceptions and his linkup & coverage allows Dimarco & Bastoni to bomb forward. Zielinksi might be able to adapt, but there’s no way Frattesi will offer anything of the sort defensively.

A slow week, so we have some fun talking about future mercati and busting out our crystal balls.

Funnily enough I wanted to post yesterday that I miss my weekly Inter Jections dose but I understand there are no topics to talk about. But I got busy with some stuff and forgot.

Cheers guys for keeping us sane during international break.

As "that guy in the forum who suggested TJ recruit David", lol, thanks for the shout out. The world is worse now that my Inter takes and ideas have been expanded out from the FIF-sphere.
😂 Sorry my man. You'll have to join the pod and speak for yourself next time.

I don’t believe I said anything about pressing only being effective if you steal the ball. Spalletti spoke about it during the euros with Scammaca and how his positioning was key to force the CBs to make an extra pass to circulate the ball before finding a midfielder, which allowed the team time to shuffle into position.

However, if you give me an option between the type of pressing Lukaku was doing vs the type of pressing Lautaro/Taremi are doing I will always take the latter.

It sounded like that to me. Was little weird to hear that from you so I came here to see what is going on.

Yep, positioning, blocking the pass or forcing player to do a move they are not comfortable doing it is also a big component of pressing.

I hardly remember Lukaku pressing at all. It was so sporadic. Especially under Conte. Lautaro was doing all the work.

Lukaku did the kind of "pressing" Sterling is referencing. He moved towards the defenders without any actual intent of winning the ball back. He didn't run fast and he didn't try hard, but he took the steps. I'd contrast this with someone like late years Higuain, who didn't even bother at times.

My commute is around 80 mins, so the longer episodes suit me very well.

Still, you guys do you, and your captive audience will take it.
Holy shit, is that one way?

Yup. I work in London and wanted to own a house (not rent or a flat) and house prices in London are many magnitudes of unaffordable. I work remotely a couple of days a week at least.
I just assumed you live on the western most point of Malta and are commuting to the eastern most point.
