I think the problem was not the defenders but the team defending. The midfield was unable to control key passes, and you can see it in every goal. Opponent players had too much space to think and run.

Sadly Sommer didn't help and Lautaro's misses continued.

Move on,
FORZA INTER!

He ran his ass off.

Just walking through Milano after the game after finally got internet. Don't know what's going on with signal on the stadium every time. Even 30+ minutes after it's not working.

Definitely don't agree with some of the takes here about the players but will need to watch game at home one more time. But this should have definitely be over after 4-2. We should have even scored one more at that time. It's ridiculous how we bring them back two times. It must be complacency. We played serious football, better football in few/most periods of the game and then out of nowhere we bring them back after being too satisfied and too careless with the current result.

How was the reception from the crowd towards Motta?

4-4 reminds me of that Inter Palermo with Milito nnd Miccoli scoring 4 goals. Or what about 5-4 to Genoa with Strama... our grande denfece is back.

Just got done watching and I feel the need to strangle something. Fucking ridiculous yet you knew it was going to happen when it got to 4-3. Worst part is how both Yildiz goals were practically borne out of the same thing.

That's now seven goals allowed in the final 15 minutes of games this season. Another reminder we allowed 0 until mid-March last year and while that part was likely non-repeatable, giving up 7 before the end of October is a ridiculous pendulum swing in the other direction. The Pavard sub seemed curious, almost certainly a case of Inzaghi trying to be careful because he had just been booked, but Bisseck has been exhibiting defensive lapses all season and they ended up biting us horribly today. He was completely inattentive to Yildiz on those cross-field switches, there was a third chance between the two goals that also could've ended up in our net because Bisseck was ball watching.

I don't care to defend him too strongly. He's young-ish for a defender but he's not a teenager either. He should have better awareness than he's showing.

still cant comprehend why all of our budget went into a backup goalkeeper.
It’s a fair question but the bigger issue is that our entire “budget” was essentially 15 mil to begin with. It’s almost impossible to run a club that wins trophies like this.

This team is basically built from one great transfer window with Suning pre-covid. Everything since then has been self financed through sales or performance on the pitch.

This is why I'm not really on the "fire Inzaghi" bandwagon. What can you really do with peanuts?

Don't have one.
And we all know the true highlight of this game wasn't eight goals but this moment here

Most of the banter era games are a big blur for me, but this one I remember vividly. Perfect combination of frustration, bad playing conditions, a bogey team and the giant killer in a midget body aka miccoli:lol:

With Lautaro continuing to struggle I'd really like to see a sign of good faith by him towards his club by asking Scaloni to not consider him for the next international fixtures next month. The last thing he needs is another transatlantic flight for pointless World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Peru.

Part of his issue has undoubtedly been fatigue having given much of his summer over to national duty, so it would be a good opportunity for him to payback Inter for their patience with him by using that window to rest or just train lightly.

If he does that Scaloni might not consider him at all going forward.

Maybe, but he is probably too valuable to Argentina for them to ostracise him. I think Inter are entitled to expect him to put them first for once considering how sustained his poor form has been now.

It took Conte to make De Vrij step up and since he left De Vrij has taken a step down again. He was asleep too much during the game. The draw was not entirely his fault of course but he didnt exactly organise the defence.
Embarrassing to draw with a team who had Weston McKennie as a 10!

How was the reception from the crowd towards Motta?
I was in the stadium only 10-15 minutes before a start. For one moment I was thinking about this but didn't notice anything. Maybe @CafeCordoba can tell if he was there earlier.

Ogni volta before the game was very nice.

I was but there wasn't anything special towards Motta specifically, more just towards all the Juve players and the fans. The hatred is real there. :D

Best moment of the game was during the first penalty when whole stadium started celebrating when it was awarded and some Italian, who was sitting right next to me, and I was just looking at each either with a "we might be fucked without Hakan" look. Then we saw Zielinski is taking the ball and we both, with mix of fear and hope in our words, just said "Zielinski" and nodded to each other.

There is also that moment when you are going to match, just leaving your building and people with our colours are immediately started appearing on the street (and especially when you come down to metro station), everyone going in the same direction.

Thinking about this now I'm not regretting one second for going despite the disappointing draw. These are the moments we are going for. Or that moment when you came to the city and first thing in the morning you see is two star Inter flag on some window. Next day I saw even bigger flag in our colours on building near my apartment. Third time there this year, still not much signs of retarded cousins anywhere. Milano is black and blue.
