They made theyre game, and it was good until the goal, but if there are 5 minutes left, i'am losing and i'am the little team i go with 4 or 5 strikers, i don't care if it's 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 if i lose.

After reading the posts here, I'm glad that I couldn't find any channel showing the game.

Match Stats

Inter Milan Lecce
Shots (on Goal) 14(2) 5(2)
Fouls 12 15
Corner Kicks 7 2
Offsides 1 3
Time of Possession 74% 26%
Yellow Cards 2 1
Red Cards 0 0
Saves 2 1

almost all lecce players stay in their own half to defend and there's always two players marking our 3 strikers each. and lecce didn't make any mistake.
credit must go to lecce and i think we did well too.
if we have a bit more luck with ibra's freekick, the game would be totally different

This game clearly showed how we lack a player like "Lampard"
If you look at Cruz's position after he came on the match, instead of acting like a forward in the penalty area, he is lurking around the AMC region. His scoring position clearly is one of Lampard's favorite spot.

If you put Ibra/Adri in the penalty box, Lecce clearly will crowded the penalty area. This leave the area right outside free. None of our midfield can do that and thus Mourinho bring on Cruz.

If my thinking is correct, it is a master sub from Jose

Your kind of close. Cruz didnt go on to replicate Lampard, he actually came on and played the position of one Eidur G.

Cruz has always been that type of player, and thats exactly how Mourinho used him last night.

Mancini was really ridiculously poor this game, how many succesfull crosses did he make? Same with Maicon.

These brazillians simply cant make proper crosses.

Not fair to bash only two players. Everyone was below par, but it was much thanks to Lecce's extraordinary tactical disipline.

Milan - Bologna

Time of Possession 55% 45%

Inter Lecce

Time of Possession 74% 26%

It seems the risk taken by Bologna(Milan HAD very good chances to win indeed) payed off.

No Milan player
Didn't get to see the game. Not even the re-run. So thanks for the highlights, guys!

That Fk from Ibra, it was actually pretty good. Better than the past few FKs he took, which normally went waaaay above the crossbar. Hopefully with some more training the accuracy can be improved. Coz we know strength-wise it's already there.

You just don't get it. Why did you took Milan as an example? Milan's defence isn't as good as Inter's one. And I'm sure Bologna's offence is better than Lecce's one. So I doubt Lecce's risk taken would have paid off in any way ever.

More clarification:

Lecce = extra-defensive, poor offense
Inter = little room to attack, good defence

=>

Lecce = defensive, little better offense
Inter = more room to attack, good defence

Inter's defence doesn't change much. The offense has more room to operate, and with Inter's skilled forwards, it leads to goal-scoring chances. Lecce's input to offense doesn't change much their chances to score as Inter's defensive play doesn't change much. Inter's defensive play so well organized that it can take Lecce's "better" offense and nothing will change compared to taking "poor" offense. Only thing which will change considerably in this scenario, is that Inter's forwards have more room to operate and them being so skilled, it will lead to more scoring chances.

Milan got nothing to do with this thing, as their defensive play isn't at the same level as Inter's one. Inter's whole packet is much better organized so the only way is to defend like hell when you don't have enough skill in your attacking department (like Lecce).

I don't expect a perfect match everytime either Khaled. What I do expect is for us to be able to create more than we have for most of our matches, and certainly more than we did today, at HOME against Lecce.

Like many posters have already said, if you can't break down Lecce then how are you gonna break down, let's say Chelsea or Juventus who are defending and playing the scoreline?

I don't think this was a good match and I never will. We need to improve our offensive play andiIn time I'm sure we will but I can't be happy with how we played, because I have higher expectations of this team.

I dont care what you think, its your opinion and i dont want to change that, you commented on my opinion in a sarcastic way where you could have just disagreed with me in a normal way...just because some people have different opinions than you doesnt make us less inter fans or somethin.

I am talking reality, this isnt a ps3 game where we will play every game on tope level,i dont care if this is a home game, last year we dominated serie A and got dominated in the CL and we also created chances against teams like lecce, each game is its own game, just because we couldnt make alot of chances in this game it means we wont against in the next matches, what are you talking about?

What i saw in the game is that our first half was average, the second half we did all that we can to get a goal, aside from trying long range shoots(soething we should do more in these matches like azzkikr said) there was nothing more we can do.

Cafe the bottom line is, Lecce tried it, and didn't work. We don't know how it would have been if they were different, but it COULD have worked, while we know for a fact now, that what they played yesterday didn't.

First of all you responded to my post that said that parking a bus infront of goal shouldn't be an excuse to create as little as we did with, "lol what should be an excuse then?" So I don't know what you're getting touchy about.. Second, I never even insinuated that people can't have different opinions and still be Inter fans, where you got that from I have no idea.

Like I wrote in the post you just quoted, I'm talking about the pattern of not being able to create enough chances in most of ur matches since Mourinho took over. It's not one single game anymore, it's two months worth and that speaks loads, especially with the quality we have.

No offense but that makes zero sense. That's like a coach saying to his team after a defeat: Ok guys we lost while playing 4-4-2, next time we face them we'll try to play 2-2-6 because that COULD work.

CafeCordoba is spot on, we would of slaughtered Lecce had they tried to get cute and play some attacking football. Our defense could of handled them with relative ease while they would of had trouble dealing with our offence due to all the space they would have been given.

We should create more chances when the opponents dont play a 1-1-8.

My last remark to my point.

If every club who is considered "way worse" than the mighty clubs like Barcelona, Real, Milan, Inter, would play like Lecce does, nobody would get a suprising wins here and then. Ok ?

That's the last thing I had to say about this.

I am not geting touchy,i am just responding to your post,i say lol in alot of my posts, that was nothing personal and i am sure you know that lol is not an insult, you said if you think that we played a good game then me and you have different ideas on what our season should be...which you want it to end in trophies hence you were saying that i dont want our season to end with trophies which is where i got that idea from...anyways this is going nowhere so whatever really.

While lol is not an insult, saying it in the manner you did without clarification gives off a sarcastic impression.

And in regards to the last part, let me rephrase that. I don't think if we keep playing like we have in offence, these first two months under Mourinho, that we will be champions by the end of the season. You seem to believe, judging by your post, that even if we don't improve, we will. That was my only point. Maybe I phrased it clumsily but that was what I meant, but like you said, whatever eh? No harm no foul. Peace!

Not fair to bash only two players. Everyone was below par, but it was much thanks to Lecce's extraordinary tactical disipline.

Im not singling them out, im just saying that they crossed poorly and thats not a new thing by our brazillians they are generaly not very good at crosses. So many poor crosses where made this game is was incredible really.

And what puzzles me is that we did nothing but crosses... Never tried shooting from distance to draw their people out of the box even once. Very very predictable play from us.

I dont agree that lecce had "extraordinary tactical disipline" though, how is parking the buss and going for 0-0 great tactical disipline? They never even tried the few times they got forward, when you play defensive you need to atleast try to make something happen on the counters you get, Lecce didnt do this, they were terrible.

Strange that you say Brazilians are not good at crossing. Alves has always been praised for it. Cafu is one of the best crossers I have seen.

Was it just me who think that our players were instructed to create those mmm high parabolic/trajectory crosses? They looked too bad to be true. But well, it paid off since we scored from such a cross, which allowed Ibra more time to direct the ball to Cruz.
