From a Liverpool perspective I thought Inter were really impressive, the general vibes in the British media are ‘fuck Inter were good there’ It’s only the British media’s ignorance in the first place that they didn’t know that already.

Let me tell you this, that was one of our toughest games this year, the first part of the second half you played us at our own game in terms of sustained pressure, having strolled past AC in the group stages, your performance compared to theirs was night and day.

0-2 doesn’t reflect the game a more accurate reflection would have been a draw but Liverpool are seasoned campaigners in the tournament, this team has been to two finals winning one and you can see that in the way they weathered the Inter storm and then took their chances.

It’s not over but obviously it is likely that we will go through but if that is the case, I’m sure next year you’ll be able to go further in the competition, if you can bag a striker you’re going to be a team to be truly feared, I have no doubt.

I wouldn't argue whether it was Inter made us look sub par or not, that's subjective. We really haven't been on top form for over a month though tbh. That's why I've said all along on here, it wouldn't be the massacre some feared, so it proved. Fairly even match for me, the game passed young Elliot by, but a good learning curve. Thought Perisic done pretty well, as I expected, I knew he'd trouble Trent. I think Inter were unfortunate to have big players missing at a vital time, and also unfortunate that for the first time in months we had a fully fit squad.
If Hakans shot goes in, who knows? Small margins and all that. Respect to the Inter fans, made a good noise in a half full stadium. See you at Anfield for the 2nd leg and who knows what might happen?!

I wouldn't patronize a massive club like Inter or their fans. And I Know you can't really take a lot from a home defeat, but given some on here were saying (or thinking) you were years behind us. Last night should at least disprove that, and give them hope that with a couple of additions Inter aren't really 'that' far behind any club.

We played well. Better than expected but Liverpool’s depth is pretty unreal. We have nothing on the bench except Sanchez that could change the game. Dzeko and Lautaro brutally disappointing again paired together. They just have no chemistry.

I don’t expect a positive result at Anfield with our forwards being passengers and no Barella but hopefully we can put in a good shift and not go out in embarrassment.
