Also, Liverpool just managed to beat Milan in both fixtures.

Looking at the second goal from Tottenham... I hope Alisson makes more fuck ups and will be low on confidence against us.

Interesting game today against Tottenham, there's a template there on how to beat them.

They are clear favorites but this isn’t as impossible as it looks.

I’ve seen Liverpool on the back foot twice this season both came against teams playing a similar 3-5-2 formation to us.

Brentford and Spurs. The thing the two had in common is that they weren’t afraid to attack liverpool and bring the game to them when required. Liverpool are a goal machine but they’re really vulnerable at the back. We can expose that.

Two things need to happen before then:

1- Sign a striker
2- Sign a midfielder

We can’t risk our injury prone strikers to be fit for that game and Dzeko and Lautaro won’t be enough. As for Barella, we need cover from him and I dont mean just for the liverpool game. In general we find it very hard to rest Brozovic and Barella and that’s a big issue.

I genuinely think our Midfield and Defense are better than Liverpool and so everything is going to be based on whos attack is better on the night. They have world class forwards and they’re all difference makers something we truly lack which will give them the edge.

Doubt we will sign anyone in january. It will be about scoring our chances. We created many chances against every team we faced so far...
We just need to continue to do so and have luck on our side. Our attackers aren't clinical killers, but on a good day, we might have luck.

Even if we buy Nandez or somebody else in January, do we have CL spots to use on new players? Probably not

I couldn't contain myself and bought a ticket to fly to Milano this game. Hopefully I will be able to buy a ticket for the game and hopefully fans are allowed in the stadium. Very excited for this game, especially because 1,5 week before this game I will be at the derby. ( If fans are allowed :yao: ).

Call me crazy but we really have a chance against Liverpool, at least to win the home match.

Inter are flying this season, and I'm very happy with the way Inzaghi has settled in. However, we are still suspect against big teams. We lost both our games to Madrid, we lost to Lazio, we drew with Juve and Milan, we only beat Napoli and Roma. Its not a good record so far. Inzaghi does very well against smaller teams, but Inter lack the quality to beat top sides.

Liverpool are as good if not better than Real Madrid. Forget one off games, and look how they have been playing over the season. Their games against Inter will be their biggest of the season yet, so they will turn it up a notch. They have the quality to overwhelm us even on our best day.

I don't see Inter beating a full strength Liverpool over 2 legs. Maybe if they have a couple of key injuries, we may have a chance. Specially at San Siro. But looking at our schedule before 2 games with Liverpool (we play Lazio, Milan, Atalanta, Napoli, & Juventus in Jan-Feb), we are more likely to have injuries, be exhausted or be off form after dropping a few points. I am a bit worried about that fixture list. Jan-Feb will really tell us what kinda stuff this squad is really made of.

May 4 1965, Inter trudge off the Anfield pitch with furrowed brows. Even though Sandro Mazzola had equalised after ten minutes, Liverpool had dismantled them 3-1 in the semi-finals of the European Cup in front of 54 thousand fans. It looked like it was over, the dream of retaining the title gone. That was until eight days later when the ‘Reds’ visited San Siro and history would be made.

Helenio Herrera had made his point to the team and on an abnormally hot day in San Siro, Inter took to the field with gusto. Mario Corso scored a well-placed free-kick after only eight minutes and then it was time for Joaquim Piero to make himself famous. Barged off the ball by the Liverpool goalkeeper, he waited until the ball was about to be kicked, came up from behind and stole it in a flash, finishing quickly and leaving the English side with red faces. Finally, it was left to the legendary Giacinto Facchetti to do the rest and win the game with 20 minutes still to go. Inter would go on to win the competition, retaining the trophy as Jair’s goal beat Benfica at the final that was held in Milan.

Memories are one thing and reality is another and the Milanese will be aware that this Liverpool side pose considerable threats. Even so, Inter will need to be confident about the tie if they are serious about going deep into the competition. Inzaghi has built on the work of Conte and they are certainly a more cultured side now. But they have not abandoned old habits. The ability to press is still there and the work rate of the players is still as intense as when the old ‘mister’ was still in place. What they have improved is when they have possession. This may be key when facing the English club.

Liverpool will certainly match the Nerazzurri for intensity and endeavour and they are arguably much more dangerous on the counter than the Milanese. Inzaghi has got the ability to keep possession more and the key to the game may well be to take the pace out of it. With Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij, they certainly have the defence to cope with what is thrown at them, although the missing Nicolo Barella will be a huge blow for – at least – the first leg.

This potentially may see Inzaghi look to contain the team from Merseyside at home in the opening February fixture, although that may be a risky tactic. It is certainly a game where his tactical acumen will be tested as will his squad rotation, given that Inter face Milan and Napoli in the build-up to the first leg at San Siro.
Thought you might enjoy these nice words by Richard Hall of FI.
