“BOOING YES, RACISM NO”
The order of the Inter Curva: “No howling at Balotelli.”
Flyers, internet, mega poster to raise awareness of the Inter fans: “You are not allowed to ruin the derby.”
And peace between both ultras.
Milan – It appeared yesterday, late evening to be exact, the message on the website of the Curva Nord. A direct message to try getting as much attention in little time as possible. “Go ahead and boo, express your dissent but avoid howling and any black or of color expressions.”
Welcome So the Inter Curva Nord will welcome Mario Balotelli on Sunday facing the worst scenario possible: the suspension of the match for racist chanting. The organized group of Inter fans is committed to publicly stop the desire of those, outside of the organization, that have this goal. Using social networks to reach their objective although those individuals do not know that social networks are not the means of communication that Curva Nord has.
Preserving the derby “Tonight they will all be waiting for our disgraceful behaviour. We have no intention whatsoever to give 11 multimillionaires a reason to send home 80,000 souls who are breathing the derby air. We will not give the people waiting for us to make a mistake a reason to open their mouths. Neither them nor their president will get good publicity because of us.” This press release will be distributed at the stadium’s entrances. The current stadium rules prohibit bringing megaphones and so to let everyone know about the line of behavior, we can assume that the entire press release will be reproduced in larger prints and placed at the Northern ramps. This is the line that the organization will take towards Mario Balotelli but they are the first to know that it is impossible to control everyone. For the player, it is not going to be a welcome of the prodigal son. He will be whistled, booed, jeered. It is inevitable. And perhaps there will be some banners that are dedicated directly to him. Everything here, the boos, the banners, are only happening because of his transfer to the red and black shirt. Anything but racism. As demonstrated in the recent history of Curva Nord which is continuing cleaning its path, staying away from political issues that we could see or hear in their choreographs, banners or chants. And also because we must remember that one of the Nord’s idols is Samuel Eto’o. One who, whenever he could, went to watch the game in their section. The same thing happened with Balotelli from the early Inter days who usually followed a match surrounded by the fans, those that will boo him tomorrow night. Not because of his skin color but because of the choice of wearing red and black. Those boos are for the sporting sense, not for racism.
“We will avoid sanctions against us, we will not let people demonize us. An ultras who gets himself banned because of Mario Balotelli can only spit in his own face. We’ll be counting on your maturity people.”
Non-aggression agreement In the last few days among other things, there was a meeting between the two organized groups of Inter and Milan fans (Curva Nord and Curva Sud). After some disagreements and misunderstandings that occurred in Inter-Partizan, the famous non-aggression pact, active since 1983, is expected to continue. The intent is to preserve the derby against all forms of violence and dangerous clashes. Tomorrow night the match is going to be on the field and in the stands, there will be plenty of banners, chants and choreography. The public is ordered to behave from start to finish. To watch a football match. As always should be.
