An easy win.
They'll be overawed by San Siro and the occasion.
3-0 Tucu hat-trick.

Cant wait for the same bullshit Inzaghi pulled vs Arsenal and Leverkusen
Oh for sure. But I for one welcome this approach at least for this match. We had issues with Real Sociedad and Monaco is made of the same ilk. Absolutely not an easy match for us.

Even if we drew against Leverkusen, we would still be in the same position against Monaco.

According to Opta, we have a 97.7% chance of qualifying directly through to the Round of 16.

Make of that what you will.

A question for the mroe informed folks, what does a win here mean for Inter financially?

Hell, of schedule first Monaco, then AC Milan, then Fiorentina match restart. Used Thuram and Dumfries too long in Lecce match. Barella got a slight knock. Pavard will start, along with Dimarco. Bastoni and Augusto played quite a lot as well. Sloppy passing will be detrimental, Monaco are quick and hunt in packs. Hoping for the best to advance to the top 8. Forza Inter!

Saw their last 2 CL matches. They are quick and pounce on errant passes to start an attack. Their offensive prowess isn't that great. Lost to Arsenal and Benfica. Beat a sloppy Aston Villa side 1-0 in their last outing. Believe they beat Bologna by the same score.

And another question - how does this compare to last season? How much more money have we gained?

"Additionally, teams will be paid a new league ranking bonus based on their final ranking in the league phase. The league ranking bonus is divided into 666 equal shares of initially valued at €275,000, with the team finishing 36th taking home that solitary share. The 35th team will take two shares and so on until the team finishing top is awarded 36 shares. The undistributed €700,000 from each drawn game will proportionately increase the value of the shares given to each position."

If we finish on 4th thats 33x 275k thats 9m€ on top of 11m€ for reaching R16. The prize money for reaching the next stages :

Winner €25m ($27.8m)
Runner-up €18.5m ($20.5m)
Semifinalists €15m ($16.6m)
Quarterfinalists €12.5m ($13.9)

Overall it went from 2.03B€ to 2.437B€

There's also bonus of 2M for reaching top 8 in league phase. 1M for 9-24 positions. So it would be:

Top 8: 2M
League phase ranking: 8M-9.6M (8th position - 2nd position)
Reaching R16: 11M
League phase match win: 2.1M (draw is 700k)

If we win, we're likely 4th, which would mean 9M ranking money. If we draw, we could drop to 8th (lowest possible) which would mean 8M ranking money. But it's hard to predict would it be 8th or 6th or what.

So winning Monaco would get us 24.1M (4th spot). If we draw, we'll get around 21.7M (8th spot).

Not convinced by the goalie so Barella and the midfielders need to try some early shots from distance.
Vanderson the RB is a decent attacking player, similar to Dumfries.
The main dangers are Ben Seghir, Akliouche, Golovin and Embolo, if they play. Zakaria has had his moments since moving there and Minamino is capable.
Our defence will be able to handle them apart from the movement/speed of Ben Seghir/Akliouche so the midfielders/wingbacks better be on it.
May I suggest rotational fouling on these 2? And a bit of brutality from De Vrij?

Embolo and Zakaria vs. Thuram and Sommer

Gladbach reunion special I see.

Latest rumored starting XI:

Sommer
Pavard-Bisseck-Bastoni
Dumfries-Frattesi-Asllani-Mkhitaryan-Dimarco
Lautaro-Arnautovic

I'm giggling at Inzaghi continuing to go on brand with the starting XIs in CL this season. :D
