A 1-0 is just like a 0-0 anyway, we'll have to win there.

But again, OMG Padelli.

with such refereeing it's impossible to win. Conte didn't go mad for no reason. That fucktard from Napoli just dived from the back with his both feet at Lautaro and got away unnoticed. what can you do...

You can't have it all, after a historic comeback in the derby, I think it was too much to just keep on winning big matches even with what seem to be the most superstars filled lineup for Inter in 10 years.

I liked that Conte actually switched to 4-3-3, never thought he'd do something so extreme, we're just missing two good fullbacks to unlock that organized Napoli defense. Barella was so Vecino today, his worst performance since joining.

Let's move on, I'd take the loss in a cup game if we're destined to lose a game in that tight ass run.

We found the guilty party! It's Biraghi  Ffs, one guy says something silly about a player and then everyone just feels it's the right thing to just jump along...

I don't want to say who the worst player on the pitch was because for whatever reason I'm not considered objective. But it definitely wasn't Biraghi. In fact, Cristiano was one of the few that left us with a positive performance tonight. That's also part of the problem, he's not a player at Inter's standards and he played okay for his level which means that everyone else was pretty much shite.

Conte switching the system was a welcome change - even if it didn't make much sense to go 4-3-3 there - but he needs to stop indirectly complaing to Marotta about the Eriksen signing and just make full use of it.

Ref was just fine. We were super inept. Impotent team who had no idea how to break their defence. I really don't understand why we need to play this slow. When we get the ball, we just play so slow every time. We play this slow for 90 minutes. It's useful to play slow against Milan when they are pressing 100% right from the start. Napoli didn't do that so they didn't waste their energy, they were able to play their defensive game for the whole 90 minutes without much problems.

I am again coming to the annual "what the fuck are they doing in trainings every day?" question. We seem to have no models for breaking these defences. This wide-midfielder shit ain't working at all, mezzalas should be more active to look for the ball, we should create more spaces with the movement.

100%

There wasn't anything wrong in Biraghi's actions in this match (apart from 1-2 setpieces maybe) so I don't get the hate.

Eriksen needs to start, definitely. Sensi is useless at the moment, he's not running that much, hiding behind opponents most of the time.

I don't think Conte is keeping Eriksen on the bench because he is unhappy about his arrival, but rather because he wants him to pick up his form or adapt to the tactic

Biraghi hate is cause he always gets a large quantity of the ball possession, but nothing ever comes off it. It's always a pass back, a wrong pass, a pass too late/early etc. Kind of similar to Vecino.

I feel like our main issue is how our midfield is lined on the field. Most of the time they are hiding behind opposition players, they don't open themselves up.

Had high hopes for Coppa final appearance , that ship looks about sailed now. Though there' s still one more chance to delete tonights miserable 1-0 home loss.

Fucking Gattuso outwitted Conte and most of our starting material and he did without Kouly and Insigne. His inner Milan devil got one back for the derby humiliation.

Only way to recuperate our mental sharpness is to smash the Eagles on Sunday. We move.

No doubt there was 2 or 3 clear fouls on Lautaro than inexplicably went against him. I think twice Di Lorenzo just ran into the back of Lautaro and fell over but won a cheap foul outside his own box.

You know what though, over at the refs association, they're probably telling each other before games, "Hey mate, have a good day. Oh btw, watch out for that little Lautaro prick." People were worrying about this from very early on in his Inter career and it seems to have come true. Diving, simulation, gamesmanship, whatever you want to call it, there's no doubt he's earned a reputation for himself as a massive gamer.

In the first half, Maksimovic's arm swung nearby Lautaro's face as he challenged for the ball. There was absolutely ZERO contact between Maksimovic's arm and Lautaro's face, but what did Lautaro do? He went down to ground clutching his face. :palm: Calvarese saw that, very clearly, and had a word with him. It doesn't excuse other shit decisions, but you reap what you sow, so to speak. The refs have long since caught on to his gamesmanship and they will be VERY discriminating when refereeing him.

This sucks. Biraghi and Sensi useless. This are games where we need the individual players to make the diffrence. Sensi was a ghost, Biraghi made only 1 decent cross in that 70 minutes he played. Really frustrating considered that he taked all free kicks and all corners, this guy is trash.

Our midfield still SUCKS. Today we fielded what supposedly should be our best midfield before signing Eriksen, we couldnt do jack shit. Barella should have to step up, we cant afford him to lose too many balls like that, this game and the first half of the derby he was out of his mind.

I don't think Conte is keeping Eriksen on the bench because he is unhappy about his arrival, but rather because he wants him to pick up his form or adapt to the tactic

There's nothing sophisticated about the role of Eriksen.

Central midfielder role, drift wide
a bit, help the striker(s), become available for the side center back and your wing back. Pass the ball to Brozovic, Barella, sideways or forward. Shoot if possible.

That's about it. Nothing much to know.

Ashley Young on the other hand has become an immediate starter in a role he's barely played before and he has to learn where to position himself on both attack and defense to avoid being in a too advanced role, wary of any space opening he leaves at the back and know where to stand when we have the ball. He's still not really good tactically but since he's a fighter and can hit a decent cross, Conte is using him. Same tactical issues apply with Victor Moses who is an even more untamed horse and it's even worse when you know that he's played in that role before and there's practically no signs of improvement and you just have to pray that the defence doesn't take advantage of the acres of space he leaves wide open.

Eriksen not playing is because Conte didn't want him, pure and simple. At some point he'll be asked to feature him in the starting lineup and he'll burst into tantrums again. It's obvious that Eriksen is more fit than Sensi and is an upgrade over him. It has nothing to do with tactics or fitness levels as Conte initially suggested. It's weird that Ashley Young is Serie A ready but Eriksen coming from the same league with more appearances and less mileage is not.

I don't really get the fascination with Ashley Young. He's not even better than D'Ambrosio.

That's the issue. It's not Biraghi or Brozo or the defenders who don't pass forward. It's the other guys who can't be passed to. We need our midfielders (and attackers also) to move more to create space, to create disorganization to opponent's midfield/defence. We are way too static now.

It's like a chess game, we keep the ball and cycle it around, trying to find the opening while keeping ball all the time (this is crucial). But we are hardly ever find any openings because there's so little movement. Also little detail like the strength of our passes between defenders etc. are not good enough in my opinion. It's too weak and opponents can react to them without any problems.

We needed Vecino too badly. These are the type of games where he scores from nowhere.

Ashley Young >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Biraghi.

Easy to tell why Biraghi is shit, just fucking compare him with Ashey Young.

Ashley Young 100x times better than this shit.

Can't beat a man like Theo Hernandez or Ashley Young

Always backpassing.

Take a shit set piece .

Give Eriksen, Brozovic, or Sensi. This fucking Biraghi set piece :yao2:

I have a "whatever" feeling after the game. Napoli wanted a draw from the beginning and Inter didn't want to lose to much energy before Lazio match. Thanks to luck Gattuso's side scored the goal - but generally they played like a newly promoted team. There were quite good in defence, but they were clueless with the ball, they lost the ball next to their penalty area like 4 or 5 times in the match, too bad we were unable to create opportunities from their mistakes.

Maybe it's strange opinion, but it should be a bit easier in the second match. It's not a coincidence that we are better in away games. We need some space to create opportunities and we can create quick counter attacks which is easier playing against the host. It's a bit bitter that it didn't end up with 0-0 draw today, but whatever... maybe thanks to that our attitude to the second game will be more agressive.

About blaming Biraghi: we played slowly from the back and on the right side Moses was able to get the ball and make some good runs which moved our play forward while Biraghi was just passing back. Moreover, his crosses was inaccurate (with one exception) and his set pieces was useless. He intercepted the ball few times, but generally he is useless against defensive-oriented teams.
