If Milan and Juve don't win, then I'll be ok.

MAROTTA: THERE WAS A CLEAR AND OBVIOUS PENALTY FOR INTER

Inter director Giuseppe Marotta criticized referee Marco Piccinini and VAR after the Nerazzurri were denied a penalty during Saturday’s match with Parma.

The Nerazzurri came back from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw with the Ducali, but it came with some controversy as well.

With Inter down 2-1, Ivan Perisic was hauled down in the penalty area by Norbert Balogh, however Piccinini waved play on with VAR also failing to intervene.

As a result Marotta spoke with Sky Sport Italia immediately after the match.

“The coach will talk about the match. This isn’t an attempt to create an alibi because that isn’t our style, but as Inter director I have to express my opinions on the officiating seen thus far,” he stated.

“I say this because it’s the only way to do so, we don’t have other avenues. There is a regulatory gap with VAR as it only intervenes in cases where there is a clear mistake by the referee and this creates a series of mistakes.

“Today there was a clear penalty for Inter, so either the referee must be attentive or VAR must intervene. Otherwise there is a strong feeling of inequality that influences the result.

“Having said that our performance wasn’t the greatest and our coach will talk about it.

“I and the entire world of football are open to help from technology, as it should cut down on mistakes. I want to call out the rules surrounding VAR, because it’s only right that referees be more attentive given that it’s only directors or coaches that are criticized.

“I think that feeling penalized goes along with these mistakes. But when a mistake is repeated….We should have had another penalty against Benevento that wasn’t given by Piccinini.”

Should've had a penalty against Genoa last week, should've had a penalty against Shakhtar...what the fuck is going on? Can't even blame the Shakhtar one on incompetent Italian referees or FIGC, either. We're not playing well enough regardless but we're getting flat out screwed on these non-penalty decisions that don't even bother with having a VAR check.

That's such a silly attitude. I understand the sentiment but goals change games.

That's not a sentiment, that's a fact. There are much bigger issues with the squad, and relying on penalties for three consecutive wins was only going to mask the underlying problems until they come back hitting us in the face once we run out of luck. We might have gotten the 3 points if not for the refs, but it wouldn't make Conte a better manager.

At least we didn't lose, huh?

Lady Fortuna has been unkind to us.

Nice deflection by inter yet again. Instead of owning up to it, it’s always someone else’s fault. Penatly or no penalty does not change the fact that we suck. Our gameplan is horrible. Our subs are wrong, and made too late. Our lineup always has at least 1-2 retards in it.

how is it silly, in what universe does a top tier team trying to win title(s) struggle week after week against bottom feeders on their home ground

It's actually a good change. Marotta should've done this far earlier. We are getting robbed everywhere, even in an EL final. That must stop.

There is literally examples of that every week. Barca, Madrid, man City etc. It happens all the time. Liverpool just about beat west ham tonight and ironically needed a penalty to draw level. Without it they wouldn't have won. It's a silly statement. Penalties are huge for a reason.

Looking at our line-up, De Vrij, Ranocchia and Kolarov at back 3 against Gervinho was a disaster waiting to happen. The only possible solution that I can think of is swithcing to back 4 which suits the available players. Here's where Conte's problem emerges. He doesn't switch his formation, and he hasn't chosen the right defenders in mercato.

This is definitely 100% on Conte. The players have done their best including Perisic and Kolarov. It's not their normal role. They can't do any better. Conte should have a plan B when we miss key players. He clearly has only one formation which is why we lost the 2 points today.

This. Back 4 is the formation that suits Inter this season, but we have Conte, a coach with no plan B, a coach that played Perisic as a target man and told Kolarov to send him long balls.
