How expansive we’ve played so far worries me. Even this Real Madrid isn’t one I think we want to go toe to toe with and try to outplay. Spanish teams are just quite simply better at that because they do it every weekend.

I actually think the Inter from the second half of last season would give this Madrid team a very hard time. It’s a shame we never really clicked until we were already out of UCL. We never really got to see the best version of Conte’s Inter in Europe.

I’ll be very interested to see how this match goes. Madrid did lose to chelsea who also plays a back 3 over two legs. However Chelsea have better athletes (Kante, Rudiger, James, Azpi) which helped nullify the counter attacks. Not to mention the pace in the front line was tough for Madrid to deal with.

I would like to see us use the following line up:

Handa
Skriniar - De Vrij - Bastoni
Dumfries-Barella-Brozovic-Vidal-Dimarco
Lautaro - Correa

I think we have to be able to use the bit of pace we have to get behind their aging midfield and run at their back line and create havoc that way.

Agree on this line-up except for LWB. I think we cannot ignore the experience Perisic possess. Dimarco should only be played when it's clear that Perisic is continuing his shit form, i.e. after 60th minute or so.

@thatdude same setup for me, though I'd go Dzeko over Correa.

Dimarco starting maybe is throwing him in deep waters but it's not like he's a teenager. If he cannot play in this game, he shouldn't play for Inter. Same applies for everyone on the roster.


We need to add more flexibility to our game. Hopefully Simone can figure it out.

Looking forward to watching us in the CL for the first time as an Inter fan. Will be a dogfight I am sure as most European games tend to be. As some others have said I do see the same starting group.

3 points is obviously the goal here and hopefully we can see it through. Madrid is good everywhere and cannot let them gain confidence as will be a short night if we do.

Just read one article where it says Real Madrid's main keys to victory tomorrow are: Contain the midfield and mainly contain Barella, win the aerial battles,and Vinicius really needs to come to play to unlock our defense(Be there x-factor)

Unlike the last game vs RM this time we'll have fans on our side. One thing I like about EPL fans is they just don't quit. I have never watched a live game at the Meazza, but from what I hear our fans are way more demanding and get disheartened bit easier.

Who knows how our last season would have gone had our fans been there after the CL exit? I guess a lot of them would just quit and some would probably whistle and throw a fit.

I remain optimistic though, because these guys are the champions of Italy, they deserve nothing less than 100% while the game is on.
