He should play Dumfries, Inzaghi is stubborn ass like Conte.

Obviously I’ll watch and hope all the same but I have no idea what fuels any optimism for this match.

All I’ve seen is:

- we went through pre-season playing against only Serie D teams. Seriously, not a single serious opponent. I have never witnessed such a thing in my life.

- our defense has gotten progressively worse over just these 3 games. The first two games, Verona more than Genoa, had some eyebrow-raising moments. The Samp game was an utter disaster and even before we went down to 10 men we conceded way too much space and were made to suffer far too much.

Not entirely sure what the path to victory is here. Another Dimarco free kick?

For me personally its a big game, teams turn up for big games. I also don't live in the past, I respect it and acknowledge it but I do not live there. I support Inter with everything I am, I believe we can beat anyone on any given day. Madrid are hardly unbeatable. We are league champions, they are not.

Thats where my optimism comes from. Glass always half full, if it's not what do we have left in life.

We’ll get hammered. Not because Real is stronger but because it’s my birthday’s eve, and when there’s a big Inter CL match around that time of the year Inter always manages to do a nice upset birthday gift.

This is the right time to beat Real Madrid, we won't get better chance to beat them in the future.

I think Insaghi should play DiMarco instead of Çalhanoğlu as a LCM. I think when Insaghi played Dimarco as a LCB v Sampdoria, he was experimenting to play him as a LB in attack.

Just read one article where it says Real Madrid's main keys to victory tomorrow are: Contain the midfield and mainly contain Barella, win the aerial battles, and Vinicius really needs to come to play to unlock our defense(Be there x-factor)

Thoughts on these?
There is no containing Il Capitano, today is his day.

It would hurt more if we lose cuz their coach is the bilanosaurus. I'm afraid he'll school Limone tactically.

Guys today is about mentality not tactics in my opinion.
If we will start the match with the mentality of an inferior team that needs to play carefully then i am sure we lose .

If we face this match with courage and play up the field rather then sit down in our area than we have a chance. This kind of match is actually where i want to see the difference inzaghi vs Conte because in a long run format such as League title i am sure Conte is much better in handling the situations that arise but in a head to head match i am kinda leaning towards Inzaghi

Bad thing is shakhtar will batter sheriff and gain advantage on us, while we will 100% lose here.

You'll soon realize that this group is harder than it seemed on paper, because we are simply not good in Europe. Also, everyone counts on Sheriff losing points; but don't forget, even if we beat them, others will beat them too and we must do more vs Real and Shakhtar, which we won't.

I'll watch it obviously, but afterwards we'll all realize it was a waste of time and you might as well do something more important. Like touching your partner's nipples. And if you don't have a partner.

Touch your own nipples then.

In the end we are f*ckin Inter not a province club like Atalanta.
I wouldn’t mind being a provincial club like Atalanta. At least we’d get through to the second round.

Inter had a better chance against Madrid last season, when they had a better first 11 with Lukaku and Hakimi (Eriksen as well, but he wasnt integrated at that time anyways). Hakan who has a great performance once in a blue moon, Dzekosaurus and Dumfries, while being decent enough for the second rate league that serie a has become, isnt really up to CL standards.

Madrid have quite a few important injuries and their defense sucks. Inter should start strong, but Ancelotti is clever and i can see Madrid scoring on the counter and take home another 0-2 win by experience and playing clever. This madrid team, despite being far from past greatness, is still much better than the trash serie a teams Inter have beaten so far.

If Inter can score the first goal, this could be a good game as it would force Madrid forward, but if Inter concede the first goal i dont see them getting more than a draw at best.

I haven't been this excited for a game in a while. I don't expect much though, I'll take a draw.

Dumfries = Dalbert
After watching a few games of him during the internationals, I think this isn't very far from the truth. But I'd give him clean slate until he gets a decent chance for Inter.

The biggest thing is that Dalbert has the mentality of a bottom-club player. Dumfries does not.
