Without further ado, let’s go :

Average Team Stat

Below is the table which shows the average stat of Inter game. Note that Inter have played 13 matches from 26 August (against Pescara) until 31 October (against Sampdoria).

10-team.jpg

The most notable statistic is how many the shots attempted. Inter have been shooting 13.75 shots per game, that’s something, but sadly the accuracy is only 38.79 %. Sneijder and Guarin contribute much in this area especially at September medio.

Beside the shots attempted, the yellow card rate also catches the attention of many eyes. Inter suffer 2 bookings per game and the longer Inter keep this rate, the more players will be suspended. If Stramaccioni still wants to continue his current style, then reducing the booking rate must be his biggest homework.

Coach :

Stramaccioni gets 6.2 point average. This sure is the satisfying rating for the coach who experiences his first full season in belt.

Player Statistics :

The next section is for player stat per game. Note that every parameter is divided per minutes played. The parameters are :

Mat = matches, rat = rating, YC = yellow card, RC = red card, Sh = shot, SOG = shot on goal, Go = goal, Ass = assist, Off = offsid, FS = foul suffered, FC = foul commited, Pa = pass , Pa% = pass accuracy, Dri = dribble, Disp = dispossessed, AeD = aerial duel won, Tac = tackle, Int = intercept, Cle = clearance

And, the table below is the ranking of Inter performance :

10-rank.jpg

Analysis :

-Just how lucky Inter managed to sign Handanovic without fierce competition at the beginning of the season. Third highest playing game only because of injury in beginning of the season and the best average rating. He makes 3.5 saves per game and many of them are worldclass saves. If he could maintain his current form, there is no doubt that Handanovic could be the best signing of Serie-A this season. Only, he needs to improve his distribution as only 39.8 % of his outball connects to his teammate.

-Castellazi has 6.3 average rating, but he has only played 2 games. So, it is safe to eliminate him from the ranking.

-Colorful statistics for Il Capitano. His playing time is the fourth highest of entire squad despite he is the oldest player in first team squad. Ridiculously, the 39-years old still is the most successful dribblers, making 25 dribbles in total and 2.4 dribbles average per game. Well, not sure if Zanetti is too amazing or the rest of squads desperately need dribble training. Also, Zanetti is the second most accurate passer with 90.3 % accuracy, only below Ricky who has 91.3 % accuracy. But, it is safe to say that Zanetti is the more reliable passer because the latter only has played 128 minutes in total while Il Tractore has played 938 minutes. The amazing thing is, Il Tractore unbelieveably achieves 100 % pass accuracy, twice. He did it in Milan derby and when Inter played against Partizan. Last, Il Capitano is one of 4 players in the squad who never won aerial duel with opposition. The others are Jonathan, Coutinho, and Sneijder. Jonathan has only played for 272 minutes while both Coutinho and Sneijder aren’t necessary to win aerial duel. Frankly speaking, aerial duel is Zanetti’s weakest area and it has never been his strong point even from his young age.

-Silvestre is third worst player and statistic shows that whenever he plays, Inter will concede minimally 1 goal. The exception goes to Pescara and Partizan match, but, the former is the promotion team and, against the latter, he slipped and nearly gave away 3 point for Partizan. If it was not because of mighty Handanovic, Inter would have bagged 0 point instead of 3.

-The Frog minutes tally is the second highest in squad only after Cambiasso. and his rating is second after Handanovic. It shows how Ranocchia has improved by leap and bound from disastrous last season. His defensive statistics is the best among other defenders. Just look how he sits in the top in term of tackling, intercepting, clearing, and winning aerial duel. Only, his discipline is the biggest weakness of him. He already amassed 5 yellow cards (highest in the team) and has 0.9 dribble attempt per game. As the primary centerback, it is necessary for him to reduce both the yellow cards and risky dribble.

-The Wall still has something to offer for Inter despite his advanced age. Having 6.1 average rating and the highest clearance stats (9.6 clearance per game )are the proof. If there is something that Ranocchia and Juan need to learn from Samuel, it is how he has only collected 1 yellow card out of his 7 games.

-Lucio, oh sorry, Juan has smooth start in his first Serie-A season. Average rating of 6.2 and his defensive statistics isn’t pale to comparison to his both partners Ranocchia and Samuel. Only, just like Ranocchia (and Lucio), he should improve his discipline.

-The fiery rivalry takes place at left wingback spot. Both Pereira and Nagatomo show what they are capable of. Statistically, both of them has each pros and cons, but the Japanese is slightly better than Pereira. Neverthless, neither of them should feel safe as 1 mistake will cost them the first-team spot. Little sidenote, Nagatomo once had 100 % passing accuracy in his 16 passes against Sampdoria.

-Contrast to left wingback spot, the competition for primary right wingback spot is very calm. There are 2 factors, Zanetti is still one of the most secure rightback in the world and his competitor is nowhere near his level. Jonatan is the second worst performer so far. And looking at his statistics, it just justifies his poor rating. Highest yellow card ratio (0.7 card per game) and highest dispossessed occasion for defender (average twice per game) sure aren’t pleasant statistic for defender.

-Despite his unstable performance, Coutinho must be proud of his dribbling skill. He conducts totally 24 succesful dribbles (2nd only after 25 dribbles after Zanetti), resulting in highest dribble ratio by 4.8 dribbles per game (the highest of entire squad). It is all thanks to his performance against Neftci and Partizan. Against the latter, the Brazillian amazingly recorded 5 succesful dribbles in only 32 minutes playing time.

-There is nothing to say about Sneijder as he didn’t play at all in October. But, Inter has always won the game without him. Is his presence disrupt the team or did he got injured when Stramaccioni began to find his winning formula ? Time will tell.

-Ricky has worst average rating among the squad, he has highest assist ratio, he has decent shots per game, but he has only played for 128 minutes. Well, it is just for everyone to judge.

-Jeckyl and Hide of Fredy Guarin. He performs extremely well against Neftci and Sampdoria, but the rest of his games left a lot to be desired. His weakest point is how he wastes the possession easily. He has highest dispossessed ratio (2.8 per game) and lowest passing accuracy (71.7 %). It explains why Inter always struggle to have smooth transition from defence to offence. He is the central midfielder, he is supposed to be the bridge from defender to striker, yet the move always stops at him. Out of all his games, he never achieved more than 80 % passing accuracy. Not to mention he only has 3 shots on goal out of his 28 shots attempted. A little positive side, against Sampdoria, he recorded 92 % passing accuracy. Woud he continue his improving trend to the next match against Juventus ? (yeah,as if I don’t know how Juventus-Inter was).

-Mudingayi proves to be reliable rotation player. So far he has 401 minutes under his belt with 5.9 average rating. Note that he has highest tackling ratio among the team (5.2 tackles per game).

-You can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Obviously the sayer had never seen Cambiaaso. Who would think the former worldclass anchorman will have such guile in offensive duty in such advanced years. For the very first time in years, Cambiasso has the most playing time instead of Zanetti. And why not ? He proves himself as one of Inter’s best performer, achieving 6.4 average ratio which is the third highest in team (together with Palacio). The report tells it all. Second highest assists (4 assists in total), 87 % passing accuracy (second highest after Zanetti), and fairly good in defensive duty. Again, little sidenote here, Cambiasso had 100 % passing accuracy against Sampdoria with 33 passes.

-No much to say about Gargano beside fairly good. Statistically not bad and not exceptionally great. Still, his enery is the great asset for Inter as he provides endless energy in the middle of the park.

-The injury prevented Palacio to show his ability from the start of the season, but after he had recoverd, he quickly offers what Inter desperately need : mobility of frontline. There is no denying that Palacio offers much much more mobilty than Milito, either offensively or defensively. Note that he is the best defensive striker that Inter have. But, his contribution isn’t just about running. He has provided 3 goals and 2 assists so far, granting him highest goal ratio (0.7 goal per game). Sitting beside Cambiasso in 3rd highest average rating of 6.4, Palacio will look forward to contribute even more for Inter.

-Not sure if Interisti must love or hate Milito. The ugly side are, he strays in offside position far too often (16 in total or 1.6 offsides per game) and wasting too many chances (remember Fiorentian game). The grey side is, he has scored 5 goals. It is disputable to consider it as good sign as 3 of them are converted from penalty. Well, at least, he is reliable penalty taker. But, the undisputable beautiful side is, he provides 5 assists so far which is the highest in team. Half full or half empty, it really depends on everyone to judge his quality.

-The 4th highest rating belongs to Fantantonio with 6.3 average rating. He is the top scorer along with Milito with 5 goals, the difference is Cassano has never taken the penalty in Nerazurri jersey. Also, he has provided 3 assists which is second highest after Cambiasso. And it is as if his presence itself is the nuisance for opposition teams as he has already drawn 27 fouls total (3.1 fouls per game). If there is something to complain about him, it is no more about his fitness, but his efficieny in possesiion. He has 74.1 % pass accuracy and 2.5 times dispossessed per game. The former is acceptable, but the latter is way too many. Neverthless, such wastefulness is forgivable as his main role is to provide the creativity spark. It is just logical to lose many ball in high risk play. But, surely you can be better, Antonio ?

Epilogue :

I will be very grafteful if anyone can tell me how to get distance-covered data and to customize the wordpress margin.
Thanks

Suggestion: Snce your report is a monthly one, I think it's better if you separate the stats into month by month instead of a season-to-date. :)
