Imagine Eriksen starting and then giving a total lackluster performance. I wouldn't be even surprised or furious but almost understand Eriksen's total lack of commitment at this point after all the humiliations by the coach.

Hopefully that is not the case and if starting, gives a brilliant performance. We need his passes to break Shakhtar's defence tomorrow.

You can't make this stuff up. Only at Inter. Publicly humiliate a player on Saturday, ask him to start the most important fixture of the season on Wednesday.

Christian 'Baggio' Eriksen to rescue the gobbo coach at Inter? Who would have thought that history repeats itself?

Come on, cafechod. The years have made you weak.

You know as well as I do that:

1) Conte will find some way to keep Eriksen on the bench. He'll either play an injured Vidal or Barella, or use someone like Young or D'Ambrosio as a makeshift midfielder instead.

2) If by some miracle Eriksen does start, he'll be shit, because he hasn't played properly in months and his confidence is at an all-time, career low point. A player can't play if he's afraid of being punished - let alone a creative playmaker who is afraid to make risky passes in case he loses the ball and the coach benches him. Furthermore, he'll be deployed as AM in our shit 3412 which simply doesn't work compared to our 352, no matter who is playing the "1".

Watch Conte switching to 4-4-2 to avoid playing Eriksen.

It's a possibility.

4-2-4 with Perisic and Hakimi on the wings, Brozovic and Gagliardini in the middle.

The issue here is whether he is eager to start both Bastoni and Young. We all know that he doesn't want to play Eriksen and at this stage he cannot trust him to care enough to save his ass in this mess of a group.

Honestly, forgetting his career for a moment, Eriksen has shown nothing with Inter until now... And i'm not talking about the last weeks, but from the last January to now, he played several matches but he's never convinced me and of course Conte.

I agree that Eriksen deserves others chances seen his career and skills, but he must play much much better in order to convince Conte to do that...

Eriksen make or break?

No Vidal? I hope he recovers, coz I would like to see a midfield of Vidal-Barella-Brozo in action when Brozo is in form.

Inter could reportedly be without Nicolò Barella and Arturo Vidal for the big match against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

i am seeing a lot of Barella is injured and wont play. Thanx Cotne for subbing him in against Bologna you dumb fuck. I am sure if we only had 2 healthy mids this cunt would rather play Rano as a midfielder before starting Eriksen.
Eriksen to the rescue

Not having Barella is a massive blow to our chances though. Why the fuck did Conte bring him on for the last 20 minutes against a mostly deflated Bologna?
While we will never know why Barella was needed in the Bologna match, let`s not jump on conclusions like that - according to the reports, he wasn`t injured in that game.

Vidal didn’t train on Monday and seems set to miss out on Wednesday due to a muscle injury in the right thigh.

FCInterNews and Calciomercato.com both writes the Italy international suffered an ankle injury in training with the Nerazzurri on Monday.

He will be evaluated today, one day before the crucial Champions League fixture against the Ukrainians.

No way Conte will play Eriksen, if Barella won't be able to start Sensi will get in for sure.

Handanovic - Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni - Hakimi, Sensi, Brozovic, Gagliardini, Young - Lukaku, Lautaro.

Maybe we'll see him around 83rd min. :work:

Eriksen with a cool 12 minutes played in his last 7 matches, ya I'd say he's fresh.

If we don't have Barella I rather play with Alexis through the middle behind Lukaku and Lautaro. Sensi and Eriksen haven't been playing consistently and shouldn't be in the starting eleven.
They both could be options for the second half.

I love how journalists are asking our guys if Real Madrid will play for a draw and what not. Sure geniuses, Real Madrid is going to play for a draw that only suits them in case we win and still does not guarantee the 1st spot so they'd be facing one of Bayern, Man City, Liverpool and possibly PSG among others, because they are confident that the team they beat with some ease twice in the group is going to beat the team that beat them twice in the group, especially given how we failed to beat them the first time around!

In other times, the coach would tell the journalists to fuck off if that was the first question...

Just focus on what we have to do ffs!

Looks like it's going to be a makeshift solution for potentially one of the most important games of the season, not ideal.

Personally I think he'll keep the 352 intact and play Perisic or Darmian as mezzala with Young and Hakimi on the wings. Sensi will probably get some minutes, but I doubt Conte will start him after his comments prior to Bologna.
The other potential solution would be to start Sanchez as trequartista, but Conte has already shown reluctance to start a match this way.

I don't see a scenario in which Eriksen starts although that would be hilarious.

Vidal confirmed out and Barella confirmed didn't train today. 3 options available really: start Sanchez behind LuLa which I can't see happening considering the recent stability with the 352. Go to a 442 with Perisic and Hakimi on the wings, I think this is more likely than starting Alexis but knowing Conte there is almost no chance he's going to alter formation especially in a game like this. So that leaves starting Eriksen or Sensi, loool this is truly fascinating I'll be honest. My only wish if we start with Eriksen is that we still stick with the 352, I think Eriksen can get more spaces in that and see more of the ball than in a 3412.

We will see, one thing is for sure: everyone including the plastics on here ruled us out and tmrw we have a chance to finally complete mission impossible. Lets do this

What an idiotic statement. Do you even understand what the term plastic fans means? Don't make it seem like Conte is doing a miracle; its a group that we should have qualified by matchday 5, we are in a position to complete "mission impossible" because that overpaid coach underperformed to begin with. Get off your high horse.

Journalists? People here seem to think that Madrid and borussia will play for draw because they are cunts. Lol

It was the first question of Conte's press conference. It wasn't a sneaky question or anything, it was fair given the situation, in the context of "how do you motivate your players when it's not entirely up to them", but the way that this Real Madrid will just agree with Gladbach on a draw nonsense is extremely disrespectful to be uttered like that. I don't care if fans say it, we can say that it's fixed on FIF for all I care, but you cannot start off with such a question and you must dismiss it completely. We're playing to win. Gladbach is playing to win. Real Madrid is playing to win. Shakhtar is coming to win. That's all there is to it.

If Conte can make Nainggolan playing against Shaktar, it's huge win for us.

At least he can tackle and doing dirty works what Vidal do.

Eriksen on other hand, can't tackle and defend. Better play him as Second Striker / Trequatista.

Tbh I think that's all Eriksen should want to do is play risky passes. Go out with a bang whether it be good or bad. Not gonna be here to reap the benefits or the consequences either way.
