Time to update these?

Biasin is the only guy who knows Inter stuff and extremely rarely is off. Most times he is off is because the parameters of the situation have changed.

Romano and Di Marzio know only finalized deals or deals that are close to be finalized.

Schira is an awkward one, but he's not totally unreliable. Sometimes he just takes information he receives for granted and passes it on as fact and is not in a great position to fact check or assess it. He just wants to be first.

Pedulla is reliable but has this issue with Di Marzio so he falls for the same shit Schira does, but mostly because he wants to prove to Di Marzio that he's better at this game.
I see no reason to. Biasin is basically management spokesperson and he only talks about something if it's close to being finalized. And that's why his info are usually 95% certain. For example, he talked about Gosens a lot later than everyone else. Still i have him in Tier 1.

You say Romano and Di Marzio only report done deals (i disagree but anyway) but this would only make them slow, not unreliable. This thread is about reliability, not speed. Their reports are reliable more often than not. As for Pedulla and Schira, they get many things right but also many other things wrong. Of course that's the price when you want to be the first to report something. Tier 2 seems fine to me for the pair.

If i had to make a change i would just add Guarro who has got some things right lately (but also many other things wrong) and Franco Vanni who's good with the financial stuff.

Generally rumors are things which are not at advanced state. Like you said, Di Marzio/Romano publish only confirmed stuff which are at advanced stage so at that point, it's not a rumor anymore and things are going fast to the goal line. Thats not even too interesting anymore. Interesting are rumors, things which happen outside the mercato window when clubs are looking for players / agents looking for clubs. This is why I like Pedulla and even Schira because shit he posts have actually hit quite often (it's just the reporting style which make people say he doesn't know anything when something he said is done happened way later and people already forgot it). Pedulla has also good connections with his group (Longori or who is his understudy) and they report stuff before the mercatos quite a lot.

Just to expand on this, after @varmin question.

You'll see that Romano did have the news the night after the meeting that Gosens was our target, but he was too careful. He knew from weeks ago that Atalanta is not willing to let Gosens go, he believed that Newcastle was in pole position [and even said that the player had agreed iirc?] and talked about how complicated the deal could be for January.

Pedulla said 'we're going for him now'.

The next morning after I said that we should open up a Gosens thread was because we had just agreed with the player and Atalanta greenlighted winter negotiations, you see a spiral of Tweets from everyone that said that the deal is happening and that the clubs are discussing terms. Romano did not change his mind within 12 hours of tweeting, he just tweets an initial reaction when hearing something ("it's difficult", "first meetings", "it's complicated" and standard journalist language) and after getting confirmation from all parties, he tweeted that the deal is going to happen.

Romano basically said nothing about Inter's left back choices, at least for weeks. We weren't really chasing one until this break honestly, mostly just navigating the waters, enquiring about several players for a loan availability. Maybe we were also waiting for Zhang to come and the games before the break to end as they had planned this transfer meeting a while back.

So this is Romano, soon after the meeting:

Complicated. Atalanta does not want to sell in January. Inter will try. Depends on Atalanta.

In truth, we were going all in. He instantly became our primary target. Maybe Romano knew that, but his language does not reflect it.

This was just before midnight.

Then we have, some 12 hours ago:

Inter insist. Negotiation will take place soon. Gosens is priority.

What changed? Well, Gosens' agent probably told Romano that they've accepted Inter's offer and there's an offer from Inter to Atalanta that's being reviewed would be my guess. Does the language reflect that?

Then we have, within 2 hours:

Advanced talks. Immediately.
He also discusses Sensi here, so it's safe to say that this time he's advised his Inter sources as well, which explains why it took 2 hours between the two. He has confirmation that Inter is close with Atalanta on the transfer formula and he's also aware that Sensi is leaving, something that wasn't a certainty before the transfer meeting.

And now we have:

Inter closing [in] on Gosens. Final stages. Personal details to be discussed on Wednesday, but it was Wednesday already. Probably mixed it up there. But mentions the transfer details between the clubs.

Now onto Pedulla. The guy's a bit of an arse:

<<I see it's raining "Gosens confirmed" news. How come?>>

Timeline of Pedulla's reports:
https://twitter.com/AlfredoPedulla/status/1485737230715047938

Inter will go for Gosens, complex deal, with Newcastle also going for the player.

Similar narrative with Romano's first tweet, but 20 minutes earlier on Twitter.

Second tweet on the night:
https://twitter.com/AlfredoPedulla/status/1485744711453364225

Difficult for Inter, but not impossible. Discussions with Atalanta imminent to see if they can reach an agreement.
Not very optimistic talk but leaves a window to suggest that Inter's will is strong.

https://twitter.com/AlfredoPedulla/status/1485902079407316992

Posts a Gazzetta link talking about the Gosens transfer, quite early in the morning. Nothing new really apart from confirming that Atalanta is willing to talk.

Some hours later

https://twitter.com/AlfredoPedulla/status/1485932941976944640

"Gosens outworn by Inter rumours? It's normal, let's see what happens."

Then we have:
https://twitter.com/AlfredoPedulla/status/1485954228665393154

This comes after Romano confirming "advanced talks" with Gosens. Pedulla posts an article saying how Gosens doesn't want to move Newcastle, wasn't fond of it and with Inter calling he's happy and it's more than just an idea. Basically saying that the deal is getting close.

https://twitter.com/AlfredoPedulla/status/1485988921263767558

Pedulla reports details on the agreed salary and contract conditions (3.5 + year option). Says Inter will keep knocking Atalanta's door and finishes off by saying "all parties are on board", meaning that it's happening.
This was just before 4pm local time. Romano did not report anything about this and had a mixed tweet on personal terms. Either he meant that terms were already agreed that day or he left it blank just because he didn't have any details.

https://twitter.com/AlfredoPedulla/status/1486021059384070144

Pedulla reports the 22m figure that Romano also used several hours later and basically says it's an w/obligation kind of loan.

https://twitter.com/AlfredoPedulla/status/1486042264862445570

Posts an article on Gazzetta on Gosens, it's paywalled. This is still before Romano said anything else.

https://twitter.com/AlfredoPedulla/status/1486072524739911682

He comes back by saying that Atalanta accepted the offer at 22m + bonuses. Romano still has nothing. Also mentions Caicedo as our primary target for the backup ST role we want.

https://twitter.com/AlfredoPedulla/status/1486107740984557568

Pedulla lays out the plan.
Gosens and Caicedo now. Scamacca, Frattesi and probably Bremer in the summer.

This comes two minutes after Romano posted about Atalanta and Inter closing the deal and Romano first mentions Caicedo.

I think it's clear that both have the same contacts here or at least the same information. We can see that Romano has a pattern that wants 99% chances of success in deals, whereas Pedulla is also careful but I'd reckon he's more of a 90% kind of guy.

Then you have the likes of Schira and Palmieri who go for 5% cases as well as 95% cases.

This thread is about reliability, not speed.

No disagreement here, check my previous post for clarification.

I'd say that both Romano and Pedulla are very reliable, but if there was a ranking, I'd put #1 Biasin, #2A Di Marzio, #2B Romano and a rather distant but still reliable #3 Pedulla.

His PL fanboy catering is becoming very annoying. I stopped checking him out, but we have a few members here that post their Inter related tweets which is pretty much how I follow these guys lately. I only check Biasin's tweets once every now and then. Less noise, more Inter.

And important detail is these 5% or 95% cases. That's not even interesting information if something is 95% case. Those 5% cases are interesting, those are the real rumors (if it's accurate), that club is interested in player X. That information is interesting even if it doesn't pan out and thus that 5% doesn't hit.

But yeah this is transfer RELIABILITY thread so yeah, Romano wins it because like they say in some circles in Twitter, he's the "tap-in". :D Which is a brilliant word for his role in this transfer news world.

And his PL fanboy catering is indeed VERY annoying these days. He keeps repeating the same stuff over and over again, in tweets and in his podcast and twitch channel and what not.

You can filter out keywords on Twitter, for Romano I suggest you block club names. You may miss out in case Inter dealing with them but then again you get the news from other sources as well.

Di Marzio has been kinda shit this summer tho
I wouldn't say he's shit. But he's definitely hit and miss. He was the first to report the possibility of a Lukaku return and basically covered the whole negatiation from start to end with lots of details and also the first to report Bellanova's name. But he has changed the narrative for Dybala countless times and only reported it hours before the meeting at Inter HQ and he was very late for Mkhi and Asllani. He is still a decent source for Inter but he isn't THE source he used to be in previous years.

Thoughts on Pedulla as the source for Inter these days?

He certainly is this summer. As Cafe says, he seems to have good contacts for Inter.

First to report Dybala, Mkhi and Asslani. First to report Monza's interest in Sensi and Pinamonti. Di Marzio beat him to Bellanova but he quickly reported figures of the negotiation. The only transfer saga he truly lost was Lukaku. He was always second in every new info. Di Marzio definitely had someone very close to negotiation as he had lots of details from start to finish.

So far i trust Pedulla more than Di Marzio this summer but we will see how it goes.

In my opinion if we do land Dybala that’s a huge plus in the Pedulla category. He has been steadfast about Dybala and Bremer coming to Inter.

I'm pretty certain all the relevant players have the same info for Dybala. Di Marzio etc are just playing it safe. Pedulla is certain Inter will sign him, but obviously he cannot know it for certain because probably not even Marotta knows it for certain yet.
