Tbh that was a foul by Dzeko, after I rewatched it. It was clear elbow to the head.

But why VAR didn't ruled out the goal? Somewhere it was said because Venezia touched the ball that foul. It was brief moment of possession but possession nevertheless. Also there was like 25 seconds time after the foul when the ball was in the net.

I think they didn't see it clearly on the tape, or it wasn't a 100% clear, like for example dudes head going back after the blow. Only after the blow you could see a mark on his head, but that was too late, goal was already given.

It looks to me that his elbow was in a natural position and the other guy literally ran into his elbow. People calling it an intentional elbow and even a red card are blowing my mind.

So as I was wondering, VAR couldn't even intervene.

It's fine. There's debate actually was it a foul or not, Dzeko's arm wasn't even particularly high. I'm going back and forth, back and forth with this.

Maybe the error by the ref was he didn't consider the hit to the head and didn't stop the play. But it was indeed not some grave mistake by VAR or anything like that.

Read between the lines. It's not all black and white. If you understand this game you wouldn't say this.

Let's be objective for a moment. It's nothing to do with Dzeko or whoever it could be but the fact that old exhausted player who hasn't scored for 3 months playes a regular spot, and misses like 5 chances per match, doesn't create much etc..

Ofc he is involved in the gameplay, he's a striker and Inzaghi prefers similar style like Conte. last 2 years we have been watching 28yo prime Lukaku in thatrole and worked quite well. But Lukaku buried those chances and was more clinical.

This 90' goal is more of a luck or karma, but a gameplan or vision. We failed to realize all those sitters thanks to him, if we had younger and more clinical-precise striker this would have been 3-4 to 0. We had 12 shots on target btw.

Since when are young strikers more “ clinical “ lol. I’ll be honest, I would take Dzeko as my striker over any striker in Seria A besides immobile and maybe.. just maybe vlahovic. Dzeko doesn’t receive the passes the crosses, most chances he creates is himself running making things happen. Inzaghi needs dumfries and perisic on when Dzeko is playing otherwise it doesn’t work

Vecino was good when he came on. The problem we have is up front, been very clear to see since Day 1 of this season irrespective of the amount of goals we’ve scored.

Have to make getting a fantastic striker out priority this summer. We could still have enough to win the league this season cos everybody else sucks
