Their defence is weak...

Although they can sit and counter, suits them..

Icardi hasn't scored in Europe this season? Id call him in before game and say you want that big new contract, make the difference when it fucking counts!

Im slightly optimistic we can do it..

I think Naldo is suspended from this game because of accumulating too many yellows, so their defence will be even worse off.. The only chance we got is if the team can all the support they can at home, because the atmosphere will make a massive difference.. Would be nice to see a packed San Siro again

Icardi has scored in Europe but just against shit teams. Seems to be easier for center backs to score these days in Europe.

Well fuck !

I only saw the opening 20 minutes before I had to leave. We were off to a fantastic start with an early goal (albeit a gifted goal), then I check in later on to see we took 3 goals !!!

Fuck me !

Edit: just realised I posted this in the return leg match thread. Fuck.

If juan and carrizo start again then mancini is a masochist

very difficult to turn it around but it's still possible. have some faith. being desperate is too mainstream here :eek:blivious:

This has to be the formation.
Is the only way that we can at least do smething, if they are going to score 2 times lets try to score 6... :/

I mean, tbh, we have nothing to lose that is not already lost at this point.

If we can't keep a clean sheet, then we simply have to score many.

I'm going to be brutally honest.

1. With the current defence, there is around 10% chance or less that we don't get at least 1 goal.

2. We lost 3:1, meaning if Wolfsburg are smart, they will play as if they lose 3:1 because they are away. So they have a HUGE advantage.

3. All thought their goals, well all 3 more or less were due to our shitty GK, you can't deny or overlook the fact that we can't even compare to their stamina. They are a LOT faster than us and will outplay us again due to speed

4. If by some MIRACLE we get thru this, we have 0% chance of winning VS the teams that are left who are way better than Wolfsburg.

We have to score 3...we wont keep a clean sheet so best chance is 3-1 extra time.

Tbh, the season's over.

I'm already looking for next season on many levels, so Mancini should focus these last 12 games on figuring out what he wants in the starting lineup, solve the Kovacic mystery, and set his future transfer targets.

God, I'm really pissed with these constant new problems that emerge every damn week. If it isn't the gaffes at the back, then it's the impotence up front, if it's not a keeper's stupidity, then it's a midfielder's inconsistency.

Solve something.

Yea, I highly doubt that will happen.. And as I said above, even if it did, much better teams awaits after.

Perhaps it would be best to just face that we won't win EL, nor will we get a spot for EL or CL next year... Maybe it's for the best because if we get into CL etc, we won't be able to buy shit due to FFP.. This way if we skip a year, Thohir can maybe pump in a little money so that we can acually fight for top 3 next year. With the current restrictions and team, we won't be any better next year.

Focusing on EL or CL next year won't exactly help us. If we prioritize Serie A, we might be able to pull off a top 3.

We have so many error prone players its fucking ridiculous and yesterdays match was yet another evidence. At the risk of stating the obvious, due to our financial situation, we have had to acquire too many players who are not good enough for this club, even the starters that we laud so often.

We have players that are great athletes, that have great heart but lack the technical discipline to be great great footballers.

Icardi - A great finisher but cant do jackshit outside the box e.g supporting play etc and his lack of pace is a big hindrance. Also he disappears when we face big teams (but by his goals alone he surely deserves to be here).

Palacio - He was great last year and he has scored many key goals for the club. His goals in the 2 previous seasons have kept us afloat but he is physically weak and easily overpowered.

Guarin - The amount of possession he loses beggars belief despite having the potential to be one of the great midfielders of this generation his often wayward passing and illogical runs limit him and the team badly.

Juan Jesus - A great athlete. Strong and fast but lacks the intelligence and technical discipline to even be a good centreback. As well as the fact that he makes too many crucial errors, same with Rano.

I could go on & on but I'll be preaching to the choir. Mancini is the right coach but unfortunately his ideas are not being manifested well cos we have too many slightly above average players who make too many elementary errors and are lacking hugely in technical ability.

I honestly don't know what the future holds for our beloved club. I believe we can turn it around against Die Wolfe but we wont win the EL, not with this team. At best we'll qualify for the Europa next season. We do not have money to buy quality players and there's a strong possibility that we could sell the few that we do have.

I'm so scared we might end up like teams like Lazio and Fiorentina. Teams that used to compete for scudetto but now can only hope to finish their season in the top 6.

Don't be surprised if he plays Carrizo again not to destoy any self confidence he has.Other coaches have done it. Don't say I didn't warn you.

In football there is always hope. Remember the fighting spirit again Bayern in their own area, and the way we were almost gonna qualify against Spurs after being badly down in the first leg.Not trying to get your hopes up but the players need to do their job.

oh i will always beleive but fuk me with handa we would not be 3-1 down imo. we have to give ourselves best chance. wolfsburg are no celtic!

lets just hope he keep it quiet on our end for 60-70 mins. we only need to score aroubnd even the 80th min and then it will be backs to the wall effort from them. you never know

I'm actually not that worried about the return leg. I even believe we may win on the night but not with enough to go through. I had to watch the replay and it's not like we were raped, or cut to pieces. It was blunders that did us in, and counting that Palacio should have passed back to Icardi to score we should've been up 0-2 before they even knew what hit them.

I was terrified they'd poke and prod us around but there's a reason they're a Europa League team ( so are we honestly ) they aren't that good or better than us in any way. It's just for Mancini to be brave and play the quality, and not leave Kova out or decide hey another Center Back is a great idea when we need to bring the ball into their half to relieve pressure.

Please, explain which of the other teams are 'way better than Wolfsburg', especially considering the form they're in and their style of play I think they were the toughest opponents for us.
