I left the group due to the incessant chatter. However won't mind being part of another group on Whatsapp. It has to have a condition - posts only allowed for a 6-hour duration (2 hours pre and post any match, and with the match).

That whatsapp group is a Red & Black forums version of FIF.

Forget the insanity that goes on in there, it's just logistically overwhelming for an anal type like me who gets turned on by neat organisation and formatting

Over the years on FIF I've gotten used to members usernames, their display pics and a bit of their personalities etc. The whatsapp group is whole new set of names to learn (or connect to a FIF member). It's too much of a hassle so I don't end up entering the group chat often.

The forum is of course, compartmentalized into topics/threads making it easy to navigate and read/speak about specific topics. Whereas the group chat is just one long fucking vertical scrolling screen of 1000's of messages of disorganised and random conversation/insults/banter.

Speaking of insults, we do enough of that here and it seems like one thing to argue over a forum with screen names and relative anonymity. But when using real names, pictures and phone numbers etc, I assumed we'd be a bit more normal. Was a bit disappointing to see people in the group chat going at it full tilt with some harsh insults, but whatever, I'm not the moral police. I can't even tell who the fuck is who 90% of the time.

I can appreciate the convenience of it for some people, but for me personally, it's a fucking mess.

it's basically a lot of random things. we talk about anything. i can understand it may be annoying for some people because the number of messages and randomness in the group. However, we have lots of people with different background and we chat about many things, from football rumours to what you eat for lunch. I supposed receiving a quick response is what some people enjoy in there.

There have been insults in the past but they have decreased drastically, to the point that it happens very rarely, at least from what I can tell.
