I got to agree with Azz though, at least Juventus didn't choke. This year's performance was way better then our shitty ass performances against Liverpool, and I was pretty pissed off that we didn't win our group, it could've made life easier for us. It's not that we have 0 chance, but we are flat out chokers, I was starting to think we are just not a CL team until we showed we coudl've scored goals against Manchester United. Because last I checked Juventus played with mostly youngsters during their CL campaign this year, and they crapped on Real Madrid and had a real good chance of beating Chelsea, so, this coming year we got to pass AT THE VERY least the round of 16, and I'm confident we will.

TBH. only Real has made the big signings this far in the market.

Barca, ManU, Chelsea, Liverpool et al are yet to make their moves.

If you talk about Juve signing Melo and Diego, then also remember we have added Motta and Milito already.

They are on the verge since last year.

Doesn't mean it will happen 100%.

I would swap Milito and Motta for Melo and Diego. They are closing gap between us and we should do something about that. We are too calm on transfer market so far.

We would like to see some offensive trequartista, that's without a question. But I think we like winning more, and we need to give our coach what he wants according to his philosophy. Some people have a problem with that, but that's how it works.

Jose doesn't want Diego alike players, who can't help in deffense, so I think it would be bad in the end to give him players he doesn't want, just like it happened at Chelsea(Ballack, Sheva) and it backfired.

Way I see it, is we are starting to get complacent and when you get complacent, you are just waiting for someone more hungry then you to come along and knock you off that top spot. But I really hope I'm wrong.

True, it is BAFFLING how a team like us goes year-in year-out without a credible playmaker/no.10/AM/whatever you want to call it.

I think the board is doing okay since they tried Lampard, Hleb and now Sneijder. The shocking thing is how many players are rejecting us, we really have to do something with that. Sure, you can blame their circumstances/change of heart/child support/mistress access or whatever. Many players sacrifice a lot to play for teams like Barcelona etc.

We need to enhance our image somehow. It is also financial, guess how much signing players to big wages and then not being able to sell them is costing us? We better invest this money to make ourselves presnetable to big stars. I honestly never thought I'd say that, but status quo will cost us a lot in the future.

Have to point out this post.

I was in Mallorca in my vacation and as people who have been in holiday resorts, know all the tourist stuff which are sold there. I didn't notice even once an Inter shirt in the tourist shops and stands. RM, Barca, English big clubs and fucking Milan were there.

This is just one proof again that CL success in clearly something one needs to have. Milan hasn't been good there for couple of years, but they have very good record there in close history (last ~6 years time). Inter is 3 (or 4) times Italian champion and yet that doesn't mean anything to a big scale.

I know that Mallorca and that resort is famous from countless number of British tourists, so British club shirts are a given, as RM & Barca as they're Spain's big ones. But as Milan is there and not 3-times-in-a-row Italian champions, it's "worrying" and explains the need of the pedigree in Europe.

Yeah its ridiculous how little press Inter get. It must be down to the CL competition. I sat in amazement as in the CL draw a couple of years ago Milan and Juve were made to be bigger threats than Inter. All the SSN pundits in Britain seemed to know nothing about Inter, saying well they won their league but i don't see them causing anyone any problems?!?! And pre-mourinho Inter never get press in the UK.. yes Milan gets loads. Must be down to the CL surely. Sorry this isn't a very structured post, my head is fucking banging :'(

guys Mour job so fair is a failure we cant get respect in europe and no big players want to come here......

What is happening we at paying 10 million euro to a coach that did exactly what our last coach did win the italian league and get laughed at in the CL. We might have booted him to keep Ibra and Adriano happy and um were they now???

ballack backfired..are you tripping...he has been major for them last year and this season...what game have you been watching....him, essien, obi and lampard have been the driving force of chelsea's well oiled machine...

I'm not telling if Ballack is good player, and especially I'm not saying he sucked after Jose left the club.

What I'm saying he got 2 players he didn't want(in his team). It's like, we needed to have 2 more midfielders this year(that's what Jose requested) and Moratti didn't do it, and got Aguerro instead.

Or, Jose wanted a player likeStankovic but with more offensive capabilites, and got Diego instead, who is great in offense, but who can't do shit in deffense(or close).

Abramovich back then got a players Jose DIDN'T want. I looked into it, and I've found many chelsea fans knows this for a fact, so I don't know if Jose said something in a press, or something else, but they say he didn't want either of the two.

And it was the first year Chelsea didn't win the title...

This is why I've said it "backfired". I've never said either of those 2 were crap players. Sheva was back then a God in Milan, and Ballack was one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the world.

It would have been very interesting to see Sneijder’s reaction if there were a top EPL team or Barca as eager as us fighting for his signature.
Because at times one can’t help but wonder about the degree of our team’s and serie A’s in general unattractiveness these days. And that is to not even to great but “good” players out there. It feels like they have to be threatened almost with a gun pointed to their head before joining us!! Very pathetic indeed…. The fact that the guy is even considering (and possibly choosing) to jeopardise his WC spot by licking Bernabeu’s stand clean rather than play for the Italian champions is awfully painful!

you guys are taking this the wrong way...

hleb wanted to be a guaranteed starter...
dude was a guaranteed starter at Arsenal, only to go to barca and be a bonafide bench player without a chance of ever starting
he looked at our stacked team and realized he will be in rotation..
notice he chose to go to an even smaller club for smaller wages....

sneijder is a unique story but i think it comes down to $$

when u see teams like man city (with no history, credibility, no CL football, horrible coach) swoop in and get adebayor and tevez, you realize it has nothing to do with the club....

it's the $$

if Inter ponied up the 25mil to Real and offered sneijder 5+ mil per season, he'd be here 4 weeks ago....
i am sure of it

I believe you are right. But there are also personal issues involved. Some players don't want to move for any sum of money and others will only take the problems with moving and fitting into a new place if they get enough money. And some again just want to play football regardless of where, it's like any normal person who is working.

Not 100%, but I am sure Hleb would have been a starter for us since we don't have anybody with his characteristics; he would have been our no.10.

About Man City players, of course they have to overpay since few will join them. A team like Barca, Man U etc. wouldn't resort to paying higher wages to attract star players the way City (or even us) do at times.

Take it Hamm for what its worth to you, but Diegus said, that Jose called Hleb, and told him he will not have guaranteed place in the first team(cause Jose didn't rate him high), and that's when Hleb decided to go to Stuttgart.

It's not that hard to believe in that scenario, it would fit perfectly.
