I find it bizarre how both Juan and Rano have been exchanging the bad performance run with each other, I mean Juan started the season pretty good while Rano was shit, then Rano started to play well and Juan started to play like shit.. not sure if this is a temporary thing and someday they're gona start having a good run together or not.

Maybe we could buy their entire defense line (including Schelotto the god) and their coach (Maran) as our defense advisor, we might even invent new roles in managing, there will be 2-3 coaches, a GK coach, a defense coach and the general manager who coordinates the efforts of the other managers and leads the attacking line.

Somehow I can barely see Mancini in our plans.

Our own defensive problems is not due to individual defenders only but the tactical setup plays a vital and majority role. Just imaging that we have a world-class gk like handa, a world class defender like vidic, a promising cb like juan and at least ranocchia who is above average at his best, we also have good fullbacks like dambrosio and santon, but yet we still have defensive woes everytime.
I think the major obstacle is the defensive setup. The coach should decide the position of the backline whether upfield or deep, he should analyze the level of offside trap the team should play, he should analyze what type of marking system the team should play and also he should determine the midfielders who are supposed to help the defence when the team is attacked. This things I mentioned are the important things the coach is supposed to analyze and make good decisions on it. That's why defenders look like world class players under mourinho because he has a good defensive set-up.
If we don't have a well-defined defensive tactics, I can tell that we will buy defenders over and over again in every mercato and at the end of the day we will still have defensive problems.
