How is it thanks to Marotta? I don't understand why is Marotta getting all the plaudits here.
We still get 2nd place and two trophies after Conte , Eriksen , Hakimi , and Lukaku leaving.

Is that possible if Ausilio manage Inter instead Marotta?

Yet we ignore that we turned into a supermarket after Marotta took over, starting with a 95% discounted stock clearing

We told people to fuck off when it came to Skriniar. Now we're shopping him around in every window.
Perisic was off reach for teams like Manchester United before Marotta, after we tried to loan him to Arsenal and trying to sell him to Bayern (loan + very low option), we lost him for free after his best season...

But yeah, grande Marotta :D

Wanna count how much Marotta cost us with Conte, Vidal, Lazaro, Kolarov, reducing Nainggolan into a non-asset, Miranda and losing Hakimi for no reason?

He's good at what he does with his method. But his method is being the supermarket. And his supplier isn't the greatest nor the cheapest.

Yeah when you look at it with that angle, it looks bad. But, there's Scudetto, SuperCoppa and Coppa Italia trophies in our cabinet now, too.

When he came in, he didn't inherit the greatest and the most stable situation.

And no, I won't allow this thread to turn into Icardi thread so we won't go there @brehme1989

FFP is the excuse of any owner who doesn't want to spend imo. After they've failed to prosecute PSG and City, I don't understand how is it still relevant now.
You could follow FFP (former rules isn't exist anymore lol) and became self-sustainable shit if we stop to sign dinosaur with high wages anymore and stick to promote youth team into first team every season. FFP itself is an excuse for Suning to make sure that they could convert more euros into yuans later.

The sad truth is still that we need to comply with FFP rules or UEFA lays their punishment mechanisms on us. PSG and City are ignored when it comes to these rules unfortunately but we cannot do anything about that. Zhangs have zero fucking influence on anything in Europe.

All of this is clear twisting the facts and no truth.
It's not Marotta's fault that Zangs have bankrupted, and instead to leave the club for somebody, who can sustain it, they are pushing to sell our most valuated players in order to keep themselves afloat. It doesn't really matter Marotta or anyone else is on charge, as the consequences would have been the same. Marotta is doing fine job to keep the team well-balanced, despite taking the unpopular decisions.
I also hate the idea of selling Skriniar, but if we ignore all personal traits, 35 mln Bremer+ 15 mln Milenkovic + 20-30 mln more (considering that we will sell him for a fee around 70-80mln) > keeping Skriniar. Of course, in an ideal world, we would have bought Bremer outright without to offload one of our best players, but as i said this is not Marotta's fault.

The plug was pulled in 2017 (before Marotta) and they decided to spend in 2019 (with Marotta).

The spending wasn't really prudent, even after the pandemic. Ease with the excuses and the... fact twisting.

Are you sure? I'm thinking that Zhang is setting the goal which is 60m plusvalenza. He doesn't natter Marotta and co gets it as long as he gets that 60m. As a few have pointed here it doesn't take a genius ceo to get those 60m by selling Bastoni, lets not forget Marotta makes about 6m a year, he better start justifying that salary.
Marotta makes 6M in a year? I can not believe that???

Because we are a "supermarket" is the reason we won't go in a banter era again. Hopefully.
This is the fundamental reason we had the banter era. Moratti, instead of beeing sincere and telling the players that we don't have enough money to keep the group and we are fucked with debt over the head, continued to beat that dead horse until we were completely shit.
And who could have then rebuild the team? Branca, Ausillio? These muppets are useless like men's nipples!

Thinking aloud here, but I wonder if the current Crypto market crash (winter, as the kids say) is going to impact any of our sponsorship agreements going forward.
That sponsorship was always a joke and we were never going to get paid even 10% of what they were promising.

I think/hope we got the fixed amount upfront for the year... Atleast thats how all of the crypto sponsoring deals are structured where public info is available....
That being said with the current crisis in crypto and the obvious lack of liquidity i doubt Socios can or is willing to do this again for this year.
Also with the current conditions in crypto it would be a huge gamble to extend that contract for another year.

Haven't you followed this? We won't have socios.com as our main sponsor anymore this season. It will be the Zytara/Digitalbits with over 25m payment. But as they are also in the crypto business, I don't know how this will work.

Nope that somehow passed me by.. was wondering if we extended the Socios deal...
Also somehow i thought that socios and digibits were more or less under the same ownership which i cannot seem to confirm atm.

Basically same shit different name with the exception that Zytara/Digibits is more of an obvious problem as they kind of pose as a bank...
They dont have a banking licence and all their banking goes through sutton bank. All of that does not really scream reliable partner.
Oh also they have a stable coin which to me screams fraud...

Anyways its still the same as with digibits as long as they pay upfront we re good.

Technically yeah, but I wouldn't want my club to have any connections to these crypto businesses. There is nothing real these companies can really offer which would really benefit their clients.

So Suning Holdings owns Inter.
Inter's financial problems are deep and ya Marotta could shut up for once but there's only so much he can do.

Suning purchased a majority stake in Inter in 2016 for €270m and took over €230m of debt.

Suning had a contract with the PL for €664.61m for broadcasting rights in China (which IIRC they haven't paid a dime for).

They spent over €300m on players for Jiangsu FC, and offered extremely high wages, which ultimately folded because they weren't making money.

The CCP put restrictions on forgein sporting investments for 2 reasons. 1)CEO's were borrowing far to heavily and risked collapsing the financial markets in China. 2) The Sporting project which was designed to bring China to a global football super power never worked and it was just money thrown away.

Zhang issued a €350m Bond against the club (which repayment IIRC was extended last year for another 2 years).

Lion Rock Capital (a CCP company) purchased a 31% stake in Inter to help inject funds into the club, but part of the agreement was that they can recall the stake at any time for €204.13m.

COVID happened, in which Inter lost €245.6m over 2 years (while winning the Scudetto).

Chinese sponsorships pulled out because they too were heavily affected by COVID and the CCP restrictions.

Zhang refused to recall a loan repayment from Evergrande of €2.85b because he and Evergrande CEO Hui Ka Yan are IIRC childhood friends, and the loan would bankrupt the company.

On March 1st of 2021, Suning (Zhang) sold €2.18b worth of shares to affiliates of the government of Shenzhen thus giving the CCP a say in club matters.

Zhang then proceeded to sell his stake in Suning and stepped down as CEO of Suning (he was actually forced out by the CCP).

He then took a €275m short-term high interest loan from Oaktree Capital which is to be repaid in 3 years (we are on year 2 right now).

The timeline might be a little out of order, but this selling spree will not end until the club is sold, but put yourself in the shoes of an investor. Would you really want to purchase an Italian club, with the state of Serie A, the crumbling/out dated infrastructure, the piss poor broadcasting deal or would you rather invest your money in the PL and actually see some ROI? TBH I'm actually surprised Elliot was able to sell Milan.

When clubs in England in relegation earn more than Italian clubs there is a systemic issue with the league. Agnelli Jr fucked the pooch on the broadcasting deal because he was too busy chasing the Super League wet dream with Milan and Inter. TBH I wouldn't have been pissed if the league heavily penalized the 3 clubs because of their disregard of anyone else but themselves. I get why they wanted a Super League, no broadcaster values Serie A like the PL. The president of the league should be getting off his fucking fat ass and trying to sell broadcasting rights to everyone, but in typical Italian fashion (yes I'm Italian) we believe everyone wants to be us and just wait for them to come. Well that doesn't work anymore.
I don't see Serie A in general as a place anyone wants to invest in unless they see some hidden gem potential (I don't see it at all), and I see Serie A clubs being basically a farm team league where PL, Spainish etc get players for less as teams struggle to pay the stadium bar espresso staff their weekly wages.

The best thing that could have happened was BC Partners taking over the club for €800m but Suning/Zhang insisted the value of the club is €1.1b (where they are getting this number if our gross revenue is sub €300m). We fucked the pooch.

Yeah about the last paragraph. Given the timing, it's likely Super league bullshit ended that BC Partners deal. So Agnelli fucked over Inter in that regard too. At least we got the Scudetto though.
