Also, I know this question was asked a few times last season (when we went through this exact same shit) but do we know for sure that the required €60m needs to be capital gains? I was under the impression it was simply cash that we needed, and that this cash would be spent on day-to-day club expenses, namely salaries.

It's uncertain that's why I tried to fuse all the scenarios into one thing. But it's probably 60m in cash to repay Oaktree.

All in all, this mercato is one of the most difficult to predict in memory.

Indeed.

So Zhangs would take money out of Inter to pay Oaktree? Because Inter have no direct connection to Oaktree in terms of loans.

That's quite shithousery by Zhangs if they refuse to sell this club and rather just sell assets inside Inter to keep it afloat, year by year. Financing the club is more expensive every "cycle". I don't get what is Zhangs end game here.

I meant indirectly in a sense that Suning needs to fund the Inter bonds they're taking but they also have to pay off Oaktree on top. I treat all of those as one entity because that's how we should treat it as long as Suning is around.

It will be heartbreaking to watch Inter haggle to earn 60m from the mercato, while Milan spend 100s of millions under new management. I hope neither scenario is true.

inter's also the worst at blooding youngsters and turning them into inter level players

esposito, casadei, aguome, satriano, hell even pinamonti could be useful against the lower level sides

they'd be very cheap, if they were replacing the vidal, sanchez, vecino, caicedos in our squad, we'd be better off by 30-40 mil a season

there needs to be a level of trust and a proper pathway given to these kids

otherwise, they just turn into zaniolo situations all over again

Its not just about blooding youngsters, its developing them. The likes of Pinamonti are just not Inter level. No amount of games time will turn a donkey into a horse. First we need to learn how to breed & train horses. It requires a complete overhaul of the youth set up at our club, which more focus on recruiting, training, skill development, etc.

Apart from Zaniolo (who we didn't develop, but was good recruitment, thrown away), how many top quality primavera stars came out of the Inter academy? If they were good, they would have risen to the top after we sold them. Bonucci and.....maybe Balotelli? Thats 2-3 players of first team quality in like 15-20 years. Its piss poor. Our youth set up is only geared towards winning youth competitions (and plusvalenza fodder), instead of focussing on developing talent for the senior team. In this regard, we (and most of Italy) need to learn from the Spanish and English clubs.

Yeap lookin to Milan they are ahead of us for scounting young talents and developing them. Of course not all of them have had succes at Milan but many of them was/are good and usefull players. I wish we would have same caliber players coming from our youth team?

Maldini, Albertini, Baresi, Costacurta, Toldo, Pessotto, Abate, Astori, Verdi, Darmian, Cristante, Locatelli, De Scilio, Calabria, Donnarumma, Pobega, Gabbia…

It would be great if we would have at least one or two decent/good youth players coming trough every 3-4 years! Currently we are lacking at that area.

I just don't understand this whole situation. I know the whole COVID pandemic fucked us and Suning financially. But why does Suning still refuse too sell us? I mean, they need money right? They would make a big profit if they sell us now, even more when we win a second straight Scudetto.

We can't keep fighting for silverware if we have too downgrade our squad mercato after mercato.... Milan is getting better and with their new rich owners they will get some nice improvements coming summer, Juventus is investing and will keep doin' that and we have to sacrifise one of our best players again?

Just get your profit and get the fuck out, thanks for bringing us back at the top of Serie A again, but a change of ownership is essential at this point!

Suning aren't selling because they believe that once the club is in a better place financially they'll be able to get a significant amount more. And they're probably right.

Let's be real serie a sucks. We'll still make top 4 and bring in CL money. Investment funds dont really care if the club is winning league titles or not. In sunings eyes as long as we're making UCL they'll sell as many players as possible.

Unfortunately this seems to be the case. They will demand sales to keep the club afloat and demand good enough sporting success to keep the asset valuable (CL qualification). Club is financed by debt inside the club and outside the club (Suning's loan from Oaktree). That's why they aren't getting one billion offers.

Yeah, they smelled blood with Lukaku and Hakimi sale and when Beppe is in HQ manouvering key sales and purchases and still winning titles, Steven will be even more keen to continue this path.

The chinese motherfuckers want 80 million profit from the summer so they will sell whoever they want and has a good offer. Basically , with these cheap fuckers we cant expect anything good, Beppe Marotta is doing miracles at the moment but even him cant handle with these cheap fucks.

the other reason they're not getting 1 billion dollar offers is because (accounting wise) suning want the debts to stay with the club

elliott pumped in something like 750 million dollars (inc. the initial loan to li i think) to keep milan afloat, lost donnarumma, calha and (soon) kessie in the process because they couldn't afford the wages. if elliott wanted investcorp to take on the debts from running milan, they'd get a bare fraction of the 1.1 billion they are looking to sell for

if you look at from that perspective, the valuation between inter (with debts) vs milan (with debts) isn't really all that different.

and in the process, we're winning trophies. that's got to count for something.

Based on this official document published by Calcio e Finanza website Oaktree loan to Suning has 12% interest rate.

The same website reveals that LionRock Capital shares at Inter (31%) have also been offered as collateral to Oaktree for the loan.

The financial situation, the stadium status, and the upcoming transfer season look so "optimistic". It's best that Inter win the Scudetto this year, cause as the song says "I see a bad moon rising...."

Exactly. We have to grab everything we can get right now cus the whole picture could look much different not too far in the future.
