I'm not enjoying this at all. We need a strong Inter to help the serie a brand. And having experienced WORSE than what Inter is seeing now we Milan fans know how painful the rebuilding process is and how damaging this kind of limbo is to the club brand. But I've a sneaking suspicion that Inter will have weather new owners soon.... Interest from the middle east perhaps.

I mean this in the absolute kindest way possible -- it's easy to have optimism over a situation that you have no stake in, because those aren't your hopes that are at risk for getting dashed if they don't work out. We all hope to hell your right that a) somebody comes to save us and b) Suning actually fucking lets it happen instead of holding us hostage, but none of us are ready to believe this is going to happen anytime soon.

There is interest. There are offers.
But we are indeed hostages of Suning.

I'm not really believing the most recent rumours on this. If there were rumours it'd be talked about more outside the 1 or 2 tweets we've seen.

Why would anyone come forward and try to budge suning when they know they won't lower their demand of 1bn?

Because things might change in Zhang's minds.

We can only hope it's just a negotiation tactic to get a better offer.

I don't think those buyers are that football-savvy that they care who we sell. They look at our financial situation and at most look our sports-results.

Milan fetched 1.3bn€ (valuation) and that is probably because their financial situation looks so much better than ours. We don't have owners like Elliott so the only route to balance the books is to sell players. Which of course might effect our results long term when we do that long enough.

Thing is, it's not like our rivals are really strengthening. Milan are losing one of their best players this summer for free. Juve needs heavy, extensive investment. Roma spent a lot of money to get like 1 point more in the league.

Not sure i agree with this.

Milan are obviously a tough one because they lose players on a free and they mostly replace them rather than truly reinforcing the team so any opinion would be subjective. But for me their balance is positive. They lost Donnarumma and Hakan on a free but they spent 80m on Tomori's redemption, Maignan, Tonali, Giroud, Florenzi, Messias and some young prospects they signed. Maignan isn't as talented as Donnarumma but he's a good GK. Tonali was excellent business and their season revelation, along with Kalulu. Giroud was crucial in their Scudetto while Mandzukic had offered absolutely nothing. We don't know what new owners plan to do but under Elliott the plan was replacing Kessie with Renato Sanches and Romagnoli with Botman. This doesn't look bad at all in my eyes.

Juve may have lost Ronaldo last summer and Dybala this summer but they have spent 180m since last summer and they'll probably spend even more this one. They're already close to Pogba and Di Maria and they're linked with Kostic, Raspadori, Jorginho, Muriel and Udogie who are all tied with contracts. They underperformed last season but in terms of squad quality they have really improved.

On the other hand, Inter have lost competitive advantage they had after Scudetto. They lost Hakimi and Lukaku and replaced them with lesser players (also lost the coach but i don't want to turn this into Conte vs Inzaghi) and the trend will probably be similar with more core players this summer. When ownership demands substantial profit from mercato every summer then this can only lead to club's downsizing. Even the best management could only slow down the process.

Here's a quick question.

We had 37k per home game this season due to COVID, if we had a full season of (let's assume) 65k per home game

Wouldn't that equate to approximately an additional 80% gate receipt revenue?

Anyone with the numbers tell us how much more money that is?

Not as simple as that tbh. We charge more for the biggest matches and those typically would have sold out. Pulling a number out of my ass I'd say maybe 30-40%

Bloomberg reports that Redbird won the competition from Bahrain-based investor Investcorp in the battle for AC Milan.
Maybe the investors from Bahrain want to buy Inter?
