Maybe some juventini happen to be around and will be willing to give them a ride so that their team can embarrass us in serie A too haha

Has anyone have an idea what the impact of us reaching the quarterfinals will be? Financial wise? Can this have a positive impact on our transferbudget?

Prize money alone is 10.6m extra. Revenue from match should be another 4-5m minimum. There'll be tv money and stuff as well and bonuses from sponsors. All kn all I'd expect at least 20m from this.

20m is the conservative figure

The real power is when we renegotiate sponsors this summer

15.64 reaching group stage. 2 draws at 930k, 3 wins at 2.8 mil, 9.6 mil fro 1/16 and 10.6 at quarterfinal.

Semifinal would be another 12.5. that would be it, we are not going to the finals.:)

Knockout games do not generate those single-match prize money, they are only for group stage matches. Knockout prizes are per the state. Getting to R16 gets you something, getting to quarters gets you something and so on.

Depending on the draw, we should definitely try to target 8-9m€ level gate revenue from the home match. Milan broke the gate revenue record of Meazza with their Spurs home match, getting over 9m€ from it. Ticket prices were probably very high but the stadium was still full.

Milan ripped the ass out of their fans for that. Ticket prices were a disgrace. Would rather we didn't try to beat that record

In real terms, qualifying for the next round may mean that we do not have to sell a player to balance the books.

To the posters who believe Inter are suddenly going to have a transfer budget, you are fucking kidding yourselves.

Provided that we make top 4, the impact is that we gonna sell only one player, with Dumfries being the strongest candidate.
But, I wouldn't be surprised if we sell everyone if good offers arrive.

Nobody saying transfer budget, but to make it to semies will be solid amount of cash. Unless you don't trust the numbers.

I am wondering what difference a solid amount of cash is going to make to our debt ridden owners.

It is not like they would use the money to reinvest it in the squad. Nor will they be able to pay the club's debts.

And yes, I do not trust the numbers or nor do I trust our owners.

ok, so why are we playing this stupid CL? Partly for money, right? There is no chance to win it with our current players and formation. At least if we make it further, we can make some money and save a sale of one or 2 stars. As far as the ownership, I'm all for getting new ownership from Middle East or USA or whatever.

20mil or more is 20mil or more. Either way it doesn't hurt us to make it, and yeah, it means we probably won't have to sell two people this summer. It also helps to boost our UEFA rankings, and improve us overall for the next year's seedings etc. We need to get to the place where we feel reasonably confident in making the CL QFs for budgetary reasons. It also will help with sponsor revenue etc

What do you mean you dont trust the numbers? What this really does is it takes he urgency to sell away, it would probably still be financially prudent to sell at least one player for a decent amount of cash. What this does is it gets us some flexibility when negotiating to sell a player.
But as H. ointed out unless we reach these rounds on a regular basis it would be foolish to plan our spending based on us reaching QFs or higher.

I think what this does most is it increases our chances to be sold....Huge difference wether you can buy a club who just reached the semis or a club who baerly gets out of the groups.

do they still do the teams have to play a team from the same country in Semi? we can beat Napoli

Then Bayern, Real, Man City will have to kill each other. Hopefully a bunch of red cards and an another miracle for us. If we get to the final vs City I'd be we win. That team would poo their pants like PSG does haha
