And we need to distinguish this season and next season. This season ends in the summer and next season starts in the same summer. Meaning we might need balancing the books before June ends (this season) and we might want balance the books ahead for the starting season in July and August.

This season our balancing books acts in the summer were selling young players like Pinamonti and Casadei for a combined 35m+5m. We still gonna make deficit even if we make CL semis or even the final.

Then in July/August we need to act with sales if we miss CL altogether. I think even making the CL we probably want to sell something.

GdS: Inter’s final games of this campaign could be worth up to €100m depending on their fortunes in Serie A and the Champions League

Hope this helps you get the picture @YoramG.

If we dont make CL this will force Suning to sell even quicker, just a vice getting tighter squeeze.

Does anyone have the figure what we needed

Operational Budget,
Target Net Profit .etc

I recall we were aiming to make 60M in sales this summer but not sure what this means in the overall budget.

We need a team salary cap + sell everyone on the team + do not resign any aging players whose contracts are up. Having a shit season where we are 12-15th place is the same as being 6th and not in Europe. At least my way we pay for our loans make our youth players more valuable to resell then sell them. Until inter get's out of the financial hole it's in we will always be talking about a year 1 or Year 0.

sell Dumfries(30), Gosen(15-20),Hakan(30), Correa($5) Lautaro(50), Onana(30), Barella(60-70), Brozo(25-30) and Bastoni (60). Get out of our loan with Oakstreet. 12% loan + they keep the club if we don't pay. Use youth Players. Allow all our aging crap players with contracts expiring to leave. I don't want to see any Inter player here next season.

Loan players from top clubs have a small salary cap. Recall all youth players. They get sold or used as a starters or bench options next season.

OMG we will not even be a top 10 team...... how much are wages + players and we lost to fking Monza at home and like 12 games total? We can't possibly be worse than we are currently.

Get a cheap up and coming coach. Use scouting to actually get good players. Do not triple wages the second they put on a inter jersey. Stop listening to fking Zanetti about the next Messi or Next Zanetti.

You just described a relegation battle team, not a side that has won 3 European cups and 19 Serie A titles. And why do we need to get out of the loan? Thats on Suning and only Suning. If they fail to pay the loan it is only a good thing, and they will be forced to sell.

The positive we will have more buyers coming out to woodworks to get a big club bargain price or Oaktree consolidates the debt and work on returning us to the black ala AC Milan.

I'd be aiming to keep Hakan, Bastoni and Barella, the rest can be sold. The condition of the offer with Hakan and Bastoni - offer what is practical, if they dont accept then sell them during the summer. Agreed all youth players should be recalled and used as rotational players.

Conditions or strict criteria for any player coming in, age, potential and cost. No more golden handshakes, no more injury-prone players and most importantly internal team salary cap that brings our wage bill down, inline with Lazio.

I would not go too hard, too quick but fundamentally we do need to reign it in.

INTER MAY OFFER CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BONUS TO THE SQUAD
Anxiety reigns at Inter following their shock 1-0 loss to Monza and the club’s management are considering offering a Champions League bonus to the squad to help secure a top four finish.

The Nerazzurri were left dejected following their defeat to the Biancorossi on the weekend, their 11th loss in the league this season. Whilst things have been significantly more positive in Europe for Simone Inzaghi’s side, they are now at risk of slipping behind in the race for a top four finish.

Inzaghi’s future is inexplicably linked to both a top four finish and a positive result against Benfica in the Champions League quarter-finals, raising the pressure in the final stages of this season.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter’s management are concerned about missing out on a top four finish and so are considering offering a bonus to the squad should they achieve Champions League qualification.

The Nerazzurri are still in a delicate financial position and cannot afford to miss out on Europe’s premier club competition, so this bonus may be formalised in the coming weeks.
LOL after bottling scudetto last season and failing to perform as expected this season, they want to reward these fuckers for finishing 4th? :awyeah:

Directors must be desperate indeed.

EDIT: Darmian was actually asked about this and he replied:
“getting back into the Serie A top four is one of our goals at this point of the season and I don’t think we need any other reward or anything like that. We know how important it is to achieve this goal.”
Not so sure about the mercenaries in the squad.

Inter have the highest average age in Serie A (well above 28) and the second-highest wage bill in Serie A - one could argue that the players are mature enough and are actually overpayed.

This would be basically the directors admitting the squad they scarped together was actually not good enough to win Serie A and trying to correct their mistake by pulling the carrot out, bribing the players. They mean business now?!

EDIT:
According to Mediaset, the club were annoyed at this notion, as they would not consider taking such a step.
Simone Inzaghi is the third highest paid coach in the division, after Bianconeri boss Max Allegri and Roma’s Jose Mourinho.

From the perspective of the club, there is no question that the amount of money that is already spent on the squad is more than commensurate to a team capable of finishing in the top four of the league.

Therefore, Mediaset reports, despite the rumours to the contrary, the incentive of a potential cash bonus has never been a strategy that the club directors have entertained.

The Nerazzurri directors instead feel that there is enough quality in the squad and that they have shown that they can approach the remaining matches in the season with the right attitude without such an incentive.

The club feel that this needs to be found without dangling money in front of the players.

+

Former Inter CEO Ernesto Paolillo has some major doubts as to whether or not the running of Inter by current club President Steven Zhang can be sustained for much longer on its current course.
“Considering the current level of debt at the club, I don’t know if Zhang’s current running of the club can be sustainable for much longer,” the former CEO said.

Regarding the rumours of a possible Italian takeover, the former CEO suggested that “It’s hard for me to see an Italian entrepreneur who would put up €1 billion to buy the club.

Then, Paolillo also gave his thoughts on the San Siro situation, stating that “It gives a bad impression of Italian bureacracy, and of our desire to relaunch football in this country.”

That top4 cash bonus would be fucking ridiculous. They are already so well paid.

Agreed. We have the second highest wages in the league and a team good enough to qualify for a champions league final, yet these fucktards want a bonus to beat monza and Spezia? Get to fuck. I'm glad marotta binned that idea

We are lucky we qualified for CL Semi - lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Shit just happened to work out, take the windfall but dont think its because our team is in the same class as City, Munich, Madrid. We are far from it and scraping the bottom of the barrel for bargain busters last transfer window, this transfer window and the next 5 windows

While we can all sit around and give the team credit for beating Barca, let's look at the reality of the situation. We qualified for the semi's by beating two teams who would be struggling for a Europa League spot in Serie A. Now we play a Milan team on our level.

We're not exceeding expectations on any front: we're just very fortunate on one front.

Completely disagree. Those Europa League level teams came on top of the groups consist of teams like PSG, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen. You're grossly diminishing the quality of Porto and Benfica. We actually went beyond expectations by just qualifying from a group of death. Reaching the semi finals of CL? None of us expected that when we drew Bayern and Barca in the group stage.

It will remain inexplicable why were we good in the CL this year and so shit in Serie A, I don't think anyone can offer a good explanation.

Edit: Maybe if Simone or some of the players speak out about it at some point, we'll know better as to why it was like that.

You can't apply transitive properties to football. We beat Barca. Monza beat us. Therefore Barca would lose to Monza.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying. My point is: if you told us at the beginning of the season we would face Porto and Benfica in the UCL QFs or R16, we would all be salivating. It was the best case scenario by a longshot.
