It was a very flat team out there yesterday. However, one positive was that slowly but surely Totti was able to assert himself into our attacks as the game progressed. He'll be fine for the World Cup.

When Matrix and Grosso are your best and only good performers, it was bad.

Actually, Gattuso's challenge was clearly on the ball and he barely touched the Swiss player..
As for De Rossi, it was an awful start, he stepped on player's leg and it was very dangerous and uncausious..

Italy didn't impress me..I don't like playing with lone striker and Totty was pretty much invisible throughout the match..I'm happy for Gila and hope Lippi will play him and Toni together..

I've seen De Rossi's and it was very ugly and very intentional. Could have put a hole to the guy's leg, really.

It wasn't as if this was all one-sided, Frisk. The Swiss approached this game as if it were real, and a few of ourplayers were tossed around, too. You could tell right after the game that Lippi was shocked with the way the Swiss played this match.

Well as as Italy and swiss fan i m very sad that the match was that intense in the second hlaf But like Getan alredy said it were both sides who were playing very hard!!!

Extremly poor perfomance by Italy yesterday. But I think, in the end you can justify it, cause Italy tried to curtail themselves from horrendous Swiss players, who were out to injure the Italians. The feeling was mutual though, but it were the swiss so started this game so intensly. Poor stuff with the WC so close.

On the actual game, I HOPE and I just HOPE, that Lippi wont field a single striker after this game. The formation of Delpiero and Totti behind the strikers with golden boy Toni sitting on the bench, is totally rubbish. Delpiero doesnt have his place in the team, unless Totti is injured, or spits on a player and gets a 3 match ban.

Matrix did ok yesterday, but don't forget he's guilty for Swiss equalizer.. His poor pass led to a goal, excellent goal btw..

And you're right, Italy must play with 2 upfront and Totti/del Piero behind them..

Yeah looking forward to the game but I agree 100% with Tommi, anyone out of Marchionni/Esposito/Mesto would have been a great back up and eventual replacement to Camoranesi. Tonight will be a more normal tactic with Toni-Gila upfront and Del Piero supporting them on the left.
