Good to see him setting achievable goals that are within his capabilities as a coach: making the squad younger is something he can do without the pressure of actually achieving, qualifying for or winning anything.

Give youth players a shot or make one team of only Italians that can’t be eliminated from serie A

The roster of euros was so pathetic

Again with how good the U20
Did at the WC none of them are actually playing is insane. If they were wearing a Brazilian, Uruguayan or Argentinan jersey all Italian team owners and coaches would give their wives and daughters asses to get even the bench of that team

This fucking piece of shit. Maybe you should ask yourself a few questions if you weren’t able to effectively use 5 players that dominated the league?
Zio, diplomatic as always, came swinging.

"We are not like this! Here, there are people who have played in the Champions League Final with Inter, the two from Roma have played in the Europa League Final, Scamacca won it, there's rhythm there! But is Ndoye from Bologna stronger than Chiesa? Is Scamacca less strong than Embolo? You have Donnarumma in goal! It’s the context that doesn’t work, the players were not put in a position to perform. If you call up 10 defenders, you have a three-man defense in mind, man-to-man, sometimes Xhaka was marking Chiesa with courage, but we know how to do that. Today you arrive here and play with Barella on the left-center and he plays better on the right, Darmian as the left-sided center-back, but let him play as the fifth, they needed to be put in their positions. Then Calafiori did well, but Bastoni already does that job and you conditioned him because they are similar. He left out left-footed players like Politano and Orsolini. He could have moved Chiesa to the other side. From the call-ups, I already didn’t understand the choices."

Spalletti can massively fuck off.

Wouldn't take the u20 too seriously. Serbia's u20 team won the world cup back in 2015. Only 1 player out of that team made it as a pro.

then why is real buying all these 18 year olds for 40+ million.

U17 is a joke. If you're big and fast you win. Thats why African teams do so well at it.

If Casadei was from Argentina we would be dropping our whole transfer budget on him. Tho Maybe not... with have Carboni and are like yea... not 1st team ready but want 30m for him.

"From Albania onwards, the same team never played more than 45 minutes together. There were changes at every half. He used 20 of 23 outfield players. It didn’t matter that the systems Italy deployed had been worked on in the March friendlies and the warm-ups. Every time felt like the first time for new XIs with new partnerships, no chemistry and no patterns of play. Players were given roles that took them out of position. Zaccagni didn’t start against Switzerland even after his goalscoring cameo in the Croatia game. Stephan El Shaarawy did instead. As was the case with Gianluca Mancini, Bryan Cristante and Fagioli, it was his first start of the tournament. And yet Spalletti hooked him at the interval for… Zaccagni."

This sums it up.

Modern day international football is dumb. I would rather Italy lose every game until the end of time than see it packed full of foreigners like France, Holland, Germany and Belgium.
Just out of curiosity, one player is not born in Germany, so how exactly foreigners?
