No Barella and Chiesa. The front line is led by a scrub like Retegui, surely nothing can go wrong.

Have to admit, they've looked good since the first wave from France.

Italy look more comfortable in the 3 at the back formation. Frattesi should have scored earlier as well.

This Italy team has zero pace. Not that Italy has ever been known for speed but this team seems painfully slow.

Frattesi shouldn’t be a starter in midfield he lacks technical quality for this level. Di Lorenzo isn’t for this level either. Pellegrini as a support striker isn’t a solution I want to see again.

Yet it’s 1-1 and arguably Italy has created the best goal scoring chances

Pellegrini as a support striker makes zero sense when you're sitting deep and conceding possession. It could work against smaller countries.

Always liked Ricci. Thought we should have bought him instead of Asllani. He seems a good player

Same. I always saw him as the one with bigger upside. It's not a coincidence Asllani got playing time at Empoli only when Ricci was sold to Torino.

Spaletti is using more like 2-5-2-1 with Calafiori moving up high, in place of Frattesi

The Inter core Spalletti spent all summer whining about is dominating when played in the proper system. Who would have guessed?
Imagine him saying look at how well we could have performed in the Euro had inter players stayed focused.
